Hyatt Place has made a significant leap in Malaysia’s hospitality industry with the inauguration of its first-ever Hyatt Place in Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant Bukit Jalil district. This marks a pivotal moment not only as Malaysia’s first Hyatt Place but also as the first international hotel gracing the Bukit Jalil area. The launch of Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil, symbolizes the expanding global footprint of the Hyatt Place brand, a strategy that aligns with the needs of discerning guests and loyal World of Hyatt members.
Bennett Peter: A Seasoned Professional at the Forefront
Known affectionately as Ben, Mr. Peter’s appointment as the General Manager is a testament to his rich background and profound expertise in the hospitality sector. Raised in Kuala Lumpur, Ben’s journey started after graduating with a Sales Management degree from Western Illinois University, USA. His initial career path in sales and marketing with the Buying Guide business directory in Kuala Lumpur took a fortuitous turn, leading him to the hotel industry.
Ben’s Diverse and Dynamic Career Path
Ben’s foray into hospitality began in 2000 at the Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort as a Revenue Manager. Over the next 15 years, he honed his skills in various roles across prestigious establishments like Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel, Bali, Crowne Plaza Danang, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, and The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa. Joining the Hyatt family in 2015, he rose through the ranks, from Sales & Marketing Director at Hyatt Regency Kinabalu to Executive Assistant Manager, and eventually to General Manager roles at Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur Mont Kiara and Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil in 2023.

Upon his appointment, Ben expressed his deep gratitude, stating, “I’m deeply appreciative of the unwavering support from the Hyatt family and the hotel’s owners, granting me the opportunity to lead Malaysia’s inaugural Hyatt Place. Beyond the Boardroom: Ben’s Personal Passions
Away from his professional duties, Ben’s life is filled with adventure and compassion. An avid microlight aircraft pilot and deep-sea diver, he also dedicates himself to a rescue shelter for 8 dogs and 12 cats. Happily married to Naho from Tokyo, Ben cherishes his time on Langkawi Island with his family and their beloved animals, sharing, “Langkawi Island is now our home, and I eagerly anticipate my brief returns to be with Naho and our cherished animals.”
