In a transformative move towards fostering national harmony, Malaysia’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are jointly supporting a new model of mature politics, aiming to secure political stability for the nation’s prosperity. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim underscores the indispensable role these parties play in securing an impending victory in the forthcoming state elections.
Stepping into his role as the Keadilan president, Anwar Ibrahim, is steering the political landscape to support the BN candidate, Datuk Mohd Zaidy Abdul Kadir, an UMNO representative. This unprecedented stance, according to the Prime Minister, epitomizes the maturation of politics in Malaysia, where unity among diverse races and parties is seen as a safekeeping measure for the nation’s security. However, Anwar cautions against compromising on core principles and the misappropriation of wealth by elected officials.
On a sombre note, Anwar extended his wishes for a swift recovery to Mohd Zaidy and his assistant, Muhammad Khairul Ahnaf Baharom, following a recent road mishap.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the growing investor confidence in the country, attributing it to the Unity Government’s unyielding stability.
Speaking to the electorate, Anwar directed a special plea to the Indian community, urging them not to squander their votes in the upcoming state elections. He highlighted his commitment to serving all citizens, regardless of ethnicity, and reiterated his readiness to address any disagreements to ensure comprehensive representation.
Further, Anwar revealed plans to convene with MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran and the party’s national leadership to address current issues, underscoring the necessity of team efforts and avoiding any possible misunderstandings.
