Malaysian political unity took center stage as numerous parties assembled at the Umno general assembly. Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, Warisan’s president, reiterated the sentiments conveyed in Ahmad Zahid’s speech, shedding light on the rakyat’s pressing issues. The former Umno vice president, who had previously left the party, found the atmosphere at the assembly agreeable despite his past differences.
In regards to the upcoming state elections across six states, he reassured the public that the party has deployed people on the ground to offer necessary assistance and support. Drawing from experiences during the 15th General Election, he mentioned the successful deployment of Warisan’s election machinery in the Peninsular, where they presented 26 candidates.
By placing a ‘rakyat-centric’ agenda at the forefront, the unity government hopes to initiate a positive shift in Malaysian politics. The joint efforts of these parties are expected to usher in an era of political unity and advancement for the nation.
