In a major shift for Malaysian badminton, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is set to initiate a thorough search for a suitable replacement following the resignation of Wong Choong Hann, the esteemed Singles Coaching Director. This development, according to BAM’s President, Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, signals a new chapter for the association.
The quest to identify a suitable successor for the pivotal role will be meticulous and could consume substantial time. The association, however, assures the public that all efforts will be made to ensure a seamless transition and the decision will be publicized promptly once finalized.

Choong Hann, 46, tendered his resignation last week, bringing his almost five-year service with BAM to a conclusion. His journey with BAM began in November 2018 when he assumed the position of National Coaching Director. He later ascended to the position of Singles Coaching Director in the following year.
BAM expressed gratitude for Choong Hann’s enormous contributions since taking on the national coaching job. Zakaria praised him, stating, “Choong Hann’s dedication to his role and his sacrifices for BAM cannot be overstated. His contributions to Malaysian badminton have been invaluable.”
As the association embarks on this journey to fill the vacancy left by Choong Hann, fans and followers of Malaysian badminton await the announcement of the new Singles Coaching Director with bated breath.
