Matt Dawson has been named Chief Technical Officer (CTO) by Maxeon Solar Technologies. Dawson will be in charge of overseeing technological development and innovation, creating the business’s new technology strategic roadmap, and managing the research and development (R&D) division internationally for Maxeon, a market leader in solar innovation and distribution. Dawson is qualified to oversee Maxeon’s technological initiatives because he has more than 15 years of experience developing and deploying products throughout the solar energy value chain. He has a demonstrated track record of transferring innovations from the R&D stage to volume manufacturing and succeeding in difficult commercial circumstances.
Dawson was most recently vice president of technology at Sila Nanotechnologies. A privately held Silicon Valley company that is working to increase production of an innovative silicon anode material.
