KUALA LUMPUR, 13 August 2024 – In a significant move to uplift local communities, foodpanda Malaysia has launched an innovative recruitment campaign titled “Jejak Panda,” aimed at providing quick and accessible earning opportunities for Malaysians. The campaign was officially launched at a one-day event at IWK Eco Park in Pantai Dalam, attended by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai and the Minister of Communications, alongside Shubham Saran, Director of Operations at foodpanda Malaysia.
Empowering Communities with Flexible Work Opportunities
The “Jejak Panda” campaign underscores foodpanda’s unwavering commitment to the communities it serves by offering flexible earning avenues for individuals. By becoming foodpanda delivery partners, freelancers can now work on their own schedules, making it an attractive option for those seeking temporary income or wishing to supplement their current earnings.
Shubham Saran, Director of Operations, foodpanda Malaysia, emphasized the platform’s role in community support, stating, “As a leading delivery platform in Malaysia, we recognize the important role we play in supporting our communities and offering accessible earning opportunities. We are grateful for the support of our partners, which helps us reach more people and make a greater impact across Malaysia.”

A One-Day Event with Immediate Benefits
Over 150 residents of Pantai Dalam participated in the launch event, which provided an exclusive opportunity to sign up as foodpanda delivery partners. Attendees who registered received their delivery partner IDs on the spot, bypassing the usual 2-3 working day application process. Furthermore, they were equipped with a complimentary rider kit valued at RM150, enabling them to start delivering immediately. The event also featured on-the-day training sessions, ensuring that new recruits were well-prepared for their roles.
Community Engagement and Welfare Initiatives
Beyond recruitment, the event offered a variety of activities, including free health and eye checkups, and informative sessions on the “panda hearts” initiative—a welfare and engagement program designed to support foodpanda delivery partners. Through “panda hearts,” delivery partners and their families can access insurance schemes, upskilling opportunities, and other benefits that help them achieve their life goals and aspirations.
Shubham Saran further added, “Our support for communities goes beyond just offering earning opportunities. As a foodpanda delivery partner, they will benefit from the welfare and engagement initiatives under panda hearts, helping them to get closer to their life goals and aspirations.”
The “Jejak Panda” campaign is more than just a recruitment drive; it’s a holistic approach to empowering communities, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in today’s fast-paced economy.
