Serena Lim, Senior General Manager, Group Corporate Communications of Tropicana Corporation Berhad and Senior Committee Member of Tropicana Foundation expressed her appreciation towards this charitable endeavour.
“Established in 2011, Tropicana Foundation mwas founded with a single vision to support and reach out to the underprivileged community focusing on social, wellness, education and environmental issues. During this festive period, the children, old folks and their caretakers face higher expenses and seek familial companionship. Our Meet & Greet programme aims to reduce that burden, provide our assistance, and bring festive cheer to them. We are grateful to our sponsors and volunteers from Tropicana Corporation Berhad, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and VitaHealth Malaysia. Together, we raised more than RM27,000 worth of in-kind items such as dry goods, event support, clothes, books, towels and food packs.”
“This charity event is also in line with Tropicana Foundation’s focus on Redefining the Art of Sharing and Caring as well as the Group’s ongoing commitment to ESG,” she added.
Nurturing the spirit of camaraderie, TGCR’s Executive Chef Azizi Bin Abdul Aziz, his kitchen crew and Tropicana volunteers began as early as 6:00 am, prepping, assembling and delivering the food packs. The representatives of VitaHealth Malaysia joined the Tropicana team at each home to hand out their health supplements. The residents of each home were also presented with auspicious CNY red packets as a token of good health, happiness and prosperity. Special appearance by the God of Prosperity mascot, giving away candies and chocolates while spreading good fun cheer to the orphanage and old folks.
Throughout the year, Tropicana Foundation will host a series of charitable events such as CNY Meet & Greet, Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet, Raya Bubur Lambuk Distribution, Deepavali Giveaway and Christmas’s Season of Joy & Giving Charity Drive. The Foundation aims to welcome more like-minded individuals and corporations for charity collaborations, in hopes of making a more meaningful impact to the underprivileged.
