Jelas sekali, ekonomi dunia semakin mencabar. Sektor perniagaan di negara ini juga turut terkena tempiasnya. Kepada para peniaga, tidak kira bersaiz besar mahupun kecil semakin sengit pula cabarannya kali ini dan semakin sukar pula untuk mendapatkan jualan yang konsisten.

Sekiranya anda seorang jurugambar persendirian contohnya, mungkin pada anda perkara yang paling penting sekali yang perlu mempunyai teknik, kemahiran dan kepakaran mengambil gambar yang berkualiti tinggi dan menarik. Mungkin 90 peratus kejayaan anda bergantung kepada faktor-faktor ini, dan 10 peratus lagi lain-lain. Betul?

Kalau 10 tahun dahulu, ini mungkin benar tetapi kini tidak lagi. Apa pendapat anda jika saya katakan formula yang betul dalam era internet ini ialah 90 peratus kemahiran pemasaran dan 10 peratus lagi kemahiran dan teknik mengambil gambar yang baik.

Terkejut bukan?

Cuba anda buka sedikit mata anda dan lihat di sekeliling sebentar. Anda akan dapat melihat hampir semua orang mempunyai telefon pintar dan perhatian mereka berjam-jam sehari di sana. Semua yang mereka perlukan kini terletak di hujung jari, cuma perlu tekan sahaja. Dan memandangkan pemasaran secara tradisional agak mahal berbanding digital, hampir seluruh jenama yang ada di luar sana kini menumpukan segala usaha dan tenaga ke arah digital. Ia lebih efektif, mudah dan murah.

Mengapa saya katakan anda perlukan kemahiran pemasaran anda jauh lebih banyak, iaitu 90 peratus berbanding kemahiran fotografi yang cuma 10 peratus sahaja walaupun anda sebenarnya seorang jurugambar yang hebat?

Ini sebabnya. Apabila semua jenama tertumpu ke arah digital dan media sosial, keadaan menjadi semakin kecoh. Keadaan menjadi semakin bising. Dan ini mewujudkan situasi yang dikenali sebagai information overload atau maklumat yang berlebihan. Dengan kata lain, terlalu banyak maklumat yang dapat dilihat di Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Google dan pelbagai saluran lain lagi sehingga kita sendiri pun tidak tahu lagi apa yang kita baca. Kita pun tidak tahu lagi apa yang kita baca itu betul ataupun palsu.

Apa yang menariknya di sini, kebanyakan jenama di internet tidak begitu mahir dengan pemasaran. Mereka sekadar berada di media sosial kerana mengikuti jejak langkah orang lain, dengan menggunakan kaedah ikut suka kepala mereka sendiri. Mereka juga tidak mahu melabur untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan yang lebih mendalam dan tidak juga mahu mengupah individu profesional untuk mengendalikannya untuk mereka. Bagi golongan ini, semua ini hanyalah membuang masa dan wang. Lebih baik mereka melakukannya sendiri – lagipun ia hanyalah Facebook ataupun Instagram sahaja. Tidak susah pun.

Ini peluang anda.

Berbekalkan kemahiran pemasaran yang anda ada yang jauh lebih besar berbanding kemahiran fotografi anda, ia akan membantu untuk tonjolkan jenama anda dengan lebih baik. Guna taktik-taktik ini:

Nombor satu di Google, dalam apa jua tajuk fotografi. Pertama, anda perlu mempunyai laman web sendiri dan juga daftarkan jenama anda di platform Medium.com. Kedua-dua ini akan membantu menaikkan kedudukan ranking anda di Google. Anda perlu mempunyai artikel, video, gambar atau apa sahaja kandungan yang perlu dimasukkan ke laman web dan Medium secara berterusan dan konsisten.

Jadi satu Jenama yang menarik di media sosial. Jenama anda perlu dilihat sebagai terbuka dan gemar berinteraksi dengan orang lain, aktif dan tidak terlalu ‘keras’. Terlalu korporat akan membuatkan jenama anda membosankan di mata orang lain.

Tema. Ini perkara yang paling kritikal yang jenama anda perlukan ketika berada di media sosial. Anda tidak boleh memuatnaik status-status yang berbentuk umum, tetapi perlu fokus kepada apa yang cuba perjuangkan.

Tidak perlu kandungan sendiri semata-mata. Cuba anda lihat GoPro dan Airbnb. Kebanyakan kandungan mereka adalah milik orang lain yang diguna kembali dengan kebenaran. Kemudian cuba anda lihat bagaimana jumlah Like dan komen yang diterima. Banyak bukan?

Jangan kelihatan terlalu terdesak. Tidak kira sama ada anda terdesak untuk menjual perkhidmatan, produk ataupun terdesak untuk mendapatkan populariti – jangan. Sebaliknya cuba bertenang dan nikmati keseronokan anda di media sosial, berinteraksi dengan orang lain dan membina komuniti anda sendiri.
