Pavilion KL’s ‘Pride of Malaysia’ Campaign: A Golden Tribute to Michelle Yeoh
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (KL), the nation’s leading shopping destination, has once again proven its marketing prowess. The mall’s ‘The Pride of Malaysia’ campaign, which celebrated the Oscar-winning triumph of Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, has been awarded the Gold Award at the prestigious Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPK) Best Experiential Marketing Awards.
The award was presented to Kung Suan Ai, Pavilion KL Director of Marketing, by Shahrin Mokhtar, Tourism Malaysia Director of Package Development, and Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok, Malaysia Shopping Malls Association President, during a grand gala at One World Hotel on 6th September.
This campaign, which spotlighted Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar win, captivated the nation with a viewing party for the film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” on 13 March. The film clinched seven Oscar awards, and the campaign culminated in a Homecoming FanMeet for Yeoh. The events not only made waves on social media but also boasted a staggering 10,000% return on investment.
DA MEN USJ’s ‘Beats of Prosperity’: Platinum Excellence in Experiential Marketing
DA MEN USJ, a prominent mall in Subang Jaya, has achieved a historic win by securing the Platinum Award for its ‘Beats of Prosperity’ campaign, celebrating Chinese New Year 2023. The campaign, which highlighted the mesmerizing art of oriental drumming, has been recognized for its innovation and community engagement.
Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen, Malaysia Shopping Malls Association Advisor, presented the award to Evelyn Woon, DA MEN USJ General Manager of Marketing. The campaign’s highlight was its entry into the Malaysia Book of Records for showcasing ‘The Most Seasonal Drums in a CNY Theme Decoration’, reflecting the mall’s commitment to promoting cultural understanding and appreciation.

Since its inception in 2007, Pavilion KL has amassed an impressive 53 awards, both locally and internationally. The mall has been a consistent recipient of accolades at the Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPK) Best Experiential Marketing Awards for five years running.
The Best Experiential Marketing Awards, organized by the Malaysia Shopping Malls Association, aims to honor the country’s most innovative shopping centers for their achievements in experiential marketing. This year, the awards saw a total of 29 finalists, with three winners in each category, and a special Judges’ Choice Award.
