Magdalena “Mags” Lybolt is a seasoned entrepreneur and an accomplished author. Magdalena understands the dedication required to create and run a business, author multiple books, and be an amazing, attentive mother to her children.
With an MBA in Business which she obtained from Purdue University Northwest, Mags had abundant knowledge for the business world, with an emphasis in marketing and technology. By her late 20s, Mags founded and established a lucrative business in the Marketing sector. This was especially significant as many other businesses were either closing or failing to launch due to the recession that the United States was experiencing during at that time.
Having such a profound aptitude for business development, Mags was struck with inspiration when working closely alongside physicians. As the marketing planner for a Physical Therapy company, she noticed the incredible results her work was yielding and that many physicians were not taking advantage of proper marketing of their businesses. Therefore, Mags decided to strike out on her own and develop a business to fill the need. With her knowledge and experience, Mags made quick work of helping physicians’ market, develop, build, and expand their business. She was able to open seven accounts in the first month of operation, with considerable success. The firm grew rapidly and was very successful. She then decided to pursue other business opportunities (selling this one) once she had accomplished the company’s goal.
As an author, Mags has, at times, taken a unique approach to the craft. Many writers are excited to publish their works with their name across the front. For Mags though, she sometimes uses a pen name when it feels instinctual. The deeply passionate topics of which she writes are personal for not just herself, but for so many, and for that reason, she chooses not to reveal the names of these books. She wants the book to “find the reader”. Those drawn to her topics are yearning for real change. Her words are written with the intent to instill genuine help, though only for those that are brought to the book, and the book to them, through an honest connection.
Two new books that will be launched under Mags LyBolt name are “You Got This” and “Prayers to Pray Over Your Children”. These will be launching very soon. “You Got This” is a book that is meant to encourage and bless those who are reading it. There are several brief readings in the text to assist readers recognize their true selves and develop successful habits. “Prayers to Pray Over Your Children” is a book with short prayers to bless your child as you read it to them and/or with them. Mags noticed that there weren’t many books for parents who wanted to pray with their children. This book is meant to help parents and guardians in prayer at any time of day or night. This book was published to allow parents the opportunity to select from a variety of prayer types while also assisting them in developing their own personalized prayers. Some parents have trouble deciding on the sort of prayer they should pray; therefore, this book was created to provide samples of both kinds of prayers as well as blessing that might be said over their children every day.
How did you get started in this business?
I started writing due to my own setbacks in business and life in general. I found solutions to success and wanted to share those techniques with other people so that they too can be successful as individuals, in life, and in business.
How do you make money?
I make money by selling books. As in any business, it takes time to be successful and get the word out. Having the right marketing techniques set in place is key.
How long did it take for you to become profitable?
I don’t really think in terms of being profitable since money isn’t the end goal. Success is the end goal. I didn’t start seeing success right away, but persistence pays off.
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
You see, I didn’t start for profit, so I didn’t doubt. I did it out of passion. That is key when choosing a venture. Find something you are passionate about, and everything will fall into place.
How did you get your first customer?
My first customer came by word of mouth. It is very important to have a good marketing strategy in place, but you also need to pay attention to those who are already following you by working hard at providing real value.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
Social Media can be a very helpful marketing tool. Anything you can do to reach those around you is a plus. Marketing strategies that provide real value are the most helpful in gaining new customers. You will then have an opportunity to introduce them into your services or products. Building a brand is important as well, so consistency is key.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?
The toughest decision in the last few months… is which book to launch next. I am in the middle of writing several books. All being passion project, I’m not sure which one would be the next best one to launch.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
What makes me successful, is that I work with passion and with my heart. I’m not afraid to take risks when I know that the payoff will benefit those I love.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
My most satisfying moment during my writings, is hearing from people who benefited from my book and how it helped them not only be better individuals but have a better life.
What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?
I am excited to provide more findings to keys of success for people who need guidance in life, who need advice on how to succeed in business, and even those that want LIFE in general to be successful.
What business books have inspired you?
Authors such as Robert Greene, Wayne Dyer, Nepolean Hill, Dale Carnegie, and Jen Sincero have inspired me.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Trust that all good things are coming, stay in faith, meditate, and go with the flow – but do it all in love and for love for yourself and others.
Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?
Yes, I am willing to be a mentor. I would suggest reaching out via LinkedIn.
