The music world is gleaming with excitement as global superstar Jung Kook unveils his debut solo album, ‘GOLDEN’. In a grand gesture of celebration, Spotify has orchestrated a series of innovative experiences to bring fans closer to the artist’s new chapter.

The Empire State Shines ‘GOLDEN’

The iconic Empire State Building was virtually wrapped in a CGI golden banner, revealing the album’s title ‘GOLDEN’, as shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). This digital spectacle has sparked a frenzy among fans, with the video of the unveiling becoming a must-watch.

Billboard Blitz in Major Cities

From the bustling streets of New York City to the vibrant avenues of Seoul, Tokyo, Jakarta, Manila, and Bangkok, ‘GOLDEN’ has taken over some of the world’s most prominent billboards. These installations are not just billboards but motion and 3D art pieces, celebrating Jung Kook’s artistry on a grand scale.

Spotify’s Head of Music, South Korea, Speaks Out

Jungjoo Park, Spotify’s Head of Music for South Korea, expressed his admiration for the K-Pop phenomenon. “The popularity of K-Pop has grown by leaps and bounds, crossing borders and transcending language and cultural differences to unite fans from all walks of life,” he stated. Park continued, “With every release, fans have shown Jung Kook tremendous love on Spotify. We’re proud to be able to join them in celebrating the widely loved Jung Kook for his first solo album, helping him further expand his global presence as an artist.”

Exclusive Content for the Fans

Spotify has curated a special selection of bonus content for the ‘GOLDEN’ release. Fans can indulge in intimate moments with Jung Kook as he unwinds in a specially designed GOLDEN room, shares his personal ramyeon porridge recipe, and takes on the Payback Challenge, all available on Spotify’s K-Pop ON! YouTube and video podcast channels.

Jung Kook’s ‘GOLDEN’ Touch on the Charts

Jung Kook’s influence is undeniable, with his single “Seven (feat. Latto)” becoming the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. ‘GOLDEN’ continues this legacy, with ten of its eleven tracks dominating Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart. The album’s standout track, “Standing Next to You”, has already garnered over 6.4 million streams on its release day, marking the highest new entry on the chart.

A Personal Note from Jung Kook

On the set of Spotify’s K-Pop ON!, Jung Kook shared his excitement: “My solo album is officially coming out. It’s time for me to show all the things that I created while growing together with BTS. I worked really hard on (the album), and you can look forward to it. It’ll be good, and I hope you enjoy it on Spotify.” He also extended a heartfelt message to his fans, “Thanks for being by my side. I’ll always cheer ARMY on too.”
