Singapore, October 20, 2023 – Have you ever pondered the idea of Singapore as both a serene paradise and an exhilarating playground for adrenaline junkies? Former F1 World Champion, Jenson Button, is here to unravel the secrets of this vibrant city-state. Join us on an extraordinary journey as Button embarks on a heart-pounding expedition across Singapore, all thanks to an electrifying collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

A Journey Like No Other

The partnership between Button and STB isn’t just about sharing one man’s journey. It’s a pivotal chapter in STB’s captivating global initiative – the “Made in Singapore” campaign. With this campaign, Singapore is transformed from a destination into a mesmerizing experience. The aim is simple: to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories and inspire travelers from around the world to make Singapore their ultimate travel destination.

Racing Heartbeats and Soaring Spirits

Button’s Singaporean adventure wasn’t your typical sightseeing tour. Imagine the rush of diving from a 45-meter-high giant swing at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett, reaching an exhilarating 120km/h! Or the thrill of a high-speed chase at HyperDrive – Asia’s pioneering indoor electric go-kart facility with a tri-tiered racetrack, nestled at The Palawan @ Sentosa. 

But that’s just the beginning. Button, the motorsport legend, also set sail on Marina Bay’s waters aboard a rigid-hulled buoyancy boat (RHIB), offering a unique perspective of the iconic Marina Bay Street Circuit.

What made Button’s visit even more special was that it coincided with the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2023. Despite having raced here in the past, this trip marked his first comprehensive exploration of the city’s diverse offerings.

Jenson Button passionately shared, “Exploring Singapore beyond the F1 track for the first time is an eye-opening experience, as the city is just overflowing with cultures, traditions, and cuisines. There is so much to discover, with something unexpected at every turn – from old-school buildings juxtaposed against modern architectural marvels, to hawker fare served up alongside world-class restaurants.“

Ms. Choo Huei Miin, the Director of Brand at STB, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Jenson Button as he adds a high-octane twist to a relaxing good time in Singapore. Jenson’s love for speed and passion for adventure perfectly align with Singapore’s vibrancy and energy.
