In a dazzling celebration of cinema history, Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) are set to light up the summer blockbuster season with a spectacular auction event titled “HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS: DANGER, DISASTER AND DISCO.” This highly anticipated four-day extravaganza will take place from June 12th to June 14th, live in Los Angeles and online at juliensauctions.com. Collectors, fans, and cinephiles can look forward to a breathtaking showcase of over 1,200 of the most famous and cherished artifacts from the world of film.
A Treasure Trove of Cinematic History
The event promises to be a treasure trove for film enthusiasts, featuring memorabilia from popular film franchises, the Golden Age of Hollywood, and modern classics. From legendary props and costumes to rare production artifacts, the auction will offer a unique glimpse into the magic behind some of the greatest movies ever made.
Among the standout items is the iconic dance floor from the 1977 classic Saturday Night Fever, which launched John Travolta into stardom as the unforgettable Tony Manero. The original dance floor, synonymous with the disco era’s vibrant energy, is expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000. This legendary piece, complete with its original acrylic panels and modern production-made panels, has seen its fair share of action, evident from the wear it carries. It will be presented on the auction stage in three rolling production carts, two crates, and one road case, ready to light up a new chapter in its storied existence.
An Auction Like No Other
The Hollywood Legends auction will also feature a plethora of other notable items. From costumes worn by Hollywood legends to props that played pivotal roles in cinematic storytelling, the collection is a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship that have defined the film industry for decades.
Among the items on offer are costumes from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter, alongside pieces from the wardrobes of screen icons like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Additionally, production artifacts from the hands of legendary producers and artisans will be available, providing a rare opportunity to own a piece of movie-making history.
A Celebration of Movie Magic
This auction is not just about the items themselves but the stories and legacies they represent. Each artifact holds a piece of film history, capturing moments that have captivated audiences and shaped the cultural landscape. The event underscores the enduring appeal of cinema and its power to transcend time and space, bringing people together through shared experiences and iconic moments.
Julien’s Auctions and TCM have meticulously curated this collection to appeal to a broad range of interests. Whether you’re a fan of classic Hollywood glamour or modern cinematic blockbusters, there’s something for everyone.
