Carsome, Southeast Asia’s largest online used car trading platform, announces that it will include extra assurance for consumers buying used cars from Carsome through a one-year warranty programme provided by Allianz Partners Malaysia. The warranty programme, a main feature of “The New Way of Buying Cars” recently launched by Carsome, consists of two different packages:
- The Carsome Gold Plan, which covers the engine, gear transmission and air conditioning system.
- The Carsome Platinum Plan, which covers extra components such as the fuel system, steering and cooling system, in addition to Roadside Assistance provided by Allianz Partners Malaysia.
The warranty comes under the Carsome Promise package, which also offers Carsome car buyers a Carsome Certified car and a 5-day money back guarantee. All Carsome Certified cars passed Carsome’s stringent 175-point inspection, have not been in major accidents and do not have structural or flood damage.
Allianz Partners Malaysia CEO David Fedarb said, “We are delighted Carsome has chosen Allianz Partners to provide its extended warranty solution. The partnership will provide some extra peace of mind for Carsome customers at the time of making their purchase decisions, knowing the vehicle is protected with a warranty. We are very much looking forward to developing our partnership with Carsome and to supporting their customers. We’re confident that our partnership will help stimulate the quality used car sales market in the years to come.”
Carsome Co-founder and Group CEO Eric Cheng elaborated that many used car buyers are worried about potential post-purchase problems. “Carsome’s Car Purchase Preference Survey showed that 60 percent of car buyers appreciate an extended warranty. As such, our partnership with Allianz Partners Malaysia in offering the one-year warranty definitely gives the best value proposition and peace of mind to buyers,” Cheng said.
The warranty programme offers not only assurance, but also convenience as it includes 24-hour claims and customer support. Customers also have flexibility in selecting from a list of service workshops available nationwide.
As part of the partnership, a dedicated team at Allianz Partners Malaysia will handle all the operational aspects of the programme, including the delivery of an online motor warranty processing system as well as customer service helplines to handle enquiries about coverage, programme information and full end-to-end customer service delivery.
Vinay Surana, CEO Allianz Partners APAC, added: “We are excited to be working with an innovative player such as Carsome. Allianz Partners has been a strategic partner for the Automotive Industry for many years and we embrace the opportunity to work with emerging companies that are helping to shape the future of the industry. We look forward to working closely together in Malaysia and throughout Southeast Asia following their expansion plan in the region.”
