A&W Celebrates 60 Years and 100 Outlets in Malaysia Continues Tradition of Innovation at New Sierra Fresco Location
The advanced A&W 3.0 concept store makes its debut at the l00th A&W restaurant coinciding with the 60th anniversary celebration of A&W 's presence in Malaysia.

A&W, the fast-food giant cherished by Malaysians since 1963, is ecstatic to unveil its 100th store in the lively Sierra Fresco neighbourhood mall nestled in the flourishing township of 16 Sierra, Puchong South. This impressive achievement coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary in Malaysia, amplifying the importance of this landmark event.

A Nostalgic Twist to the Dining Experience

The new A&W branch in Sierra Fresco has been conceptualised around a vibrant American diner theme, presenting a unique retro-inspired ambience. Patrons in and around the area can experience a journey back in time while enjoying a blend of their favourite classic dishes and updated culinary delights designed to appeal to a modern audience.

Embracing the Future with Technology and Innovation

The opening of A&W’s 100th outlet brings the beloved brand a set towards its ambitious goal of opening 150 stores by 2025, further solidifying its position as a leading fast-food brand in the country.

While honouring its rich history, A&W is also committed to embracing progress. In a first for any A&W restaurant in Malaysia, the 100th outlet features self-ordering kiosks that enable customers to customise and order their meals seamlessly. Enhancing the dessert experience, the outlet also introduces a dedicated in-house dessert bar, serving a variety of mouth-watering delights, including the popular waffles and ice-cream.

Reflections from the Top

Mr. George Ang, CEO of A&W Malaysia, recounted the brand’s incredible journey since its inauguration in 1963. He underscored how A&W had woven itself into the hearts and palates of Malaysians over the decades. While catering to evolving dining trends, A&W stays rooted in its iconic legacy. The company’s dedication to constant innovation enables it to offer invigorating options to customers while also maintaining its longstanding traditions.

A Balancing Act Between Classics and Innovation

A&W’s legendary menu has had a lasting impact on Malaysia’s fast-food landscape. Classic items such as flavourful Coneys, tantalizing waffles, and the iconic A&W RB floats continue to be customer favourites. In line with its culture of innovation, A&W has also catered to younger generations with novel dishes such as the Mozza Burger and Golden Aroma Chicken, made with the freshest ingredients.

A Bright Future Ahead

Alongside the 100th outlet, A&W’s expansion into KLIA Terminal 2 marks its foray into airport locations. The company is also venturing into Perlis with an outlet in Kangar set to open in mid-August 2023. Future plans include increasing its presence in theme parks and strategic rest stops along major highways, along with a focus on Drive-Thru outlets. These endeavours propel A&W closer to its ambitious goal of 150 outlets by 2025, strengthening its position as a fast-food leader in Malaysia.

With a commitment to innovative experiences and evolving customer tastes, A&W ensures that Malaysians can look forward to fresh and exciting experiences in the years ahead.
