A New Era for Global Tourism: Alipay and Fliggy ‘s Joint Venture
Alipay, the largest digital payment and lifestyle service in China, has teamed up with Fliggy, the largest online travel platform, to launch a daring advertising campaign as the globe slowly begins to shake off the effects of a worldwide epidemic. With an emphasis on China’s booming ice and snow tourism industry, this programme takes a giant leap forward in reimagining the travel experience for foreign tourists.
Tailored Offers for Malaysian Tourists
Unveiled at the international promotion of China’s Ice & Snow attractions in Kuala Lumpur, the campaign introduces exclusive air ticket coupons, primarily aimed at Malaysian tourists eyeing China’s famed ice and snow destinations and other key tourist locales.
Malaysian travelers can avail themselves of these offers by downloading the Alipay app and searching for “ice,” “snow,” or “travel to China.” Within the app, the Fliggy mini program presents a coupon, slicing up to RM68 off a single air ticket. This offer, available from January 29 to February 17, is subject to availability and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Aiming for Enhanced Travel Experiences
Hannah Tan, the Country Manager and Strategic Partnerships for Malaysia at Ant Group, shared the vision behind the campaign: “Through the introduction of this marketing campaign, we hope to enhance the travel experience for international visitors in China, providing increased convenience for Malaysians utilizing Touch ‘n Go eWallet or Alipay during their travels across the country. Together with our partners, we remain committed to enhancing the overall users’ journey to ensure a seamless travel experience with added value.”
Easing Cross-Border Travel and Transactions
The recent uptick in demand for cross-border travel, including trips to China, is buoyed by more frequent flights and welcoming visa policies. Countries such as Switzerland and Ireland have joined the ranks of those enjoying visa-free entry to China, an extension of a policy that previously included several European nations and Malaysia.
International tourists can now effortlessly download the Alipay app and link it to global credit or debit cards from Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover®, and Diners Club International®. This integration facilitates a myriad of transactions across China, encompassing shopping, transportation, and accommodation bookings, among others.
