Baru-baru ini salah satu dari pelanggan lama agensi media sosial saya menghubungi saya untuk kembali menggunakan khidmat kami. Setelah hampir 6 bulan khidmat pengurusan media sosial kami dihentikan, kini dia ingin kembali. Saya tanya mengapa dia mahu menggunakan khidmat agensi saya lagi, ini jawapan yang diberikannya.

  1. Dia berhasrat untuk mengurangkan kos operasinya dengan memberhentikan perkhidmatan agensi saya tetapi sebaliknya ia menjadi lebih mahal kerana dia terpaksa mendapatkan dua orang pekerja sepenuh masa dan kualiti kerja yang ditunjukkan oleh mereka terlalu jauh ketinggalan berbanding dengan apa yang agensi saya tawarkan.
  2. Dia cuba mendapatkan khidmat agensi media sosial yang lain, namun sekali lagi dia hampa dengan kualiti kerja dan komitmen kerja yang ditunjukkan.
  3. Harga yang ditawarkan oleh agensi-agensi lain jauh lebih mahal berbanding kualiti kerja yang tidak seberapa.
  4. Pengalamannya sepanjang dua tahun menggunakan khidmat agensi saya sangat baik.

Dengan berbekalkan muka yang tebal, beliau menghubungi saya tentang ini. Polisi agensi saya mudah, kami memang tidak pernah berhasrat untuk mengambil kembali pelanggan-pelanggan yang lama tetapi apabila mendengar sahaja jawapan tadi, saya berasa serba salah. Setelah berbincang dengan rakan-rakan di pejabat, kami mengalah dan pelanggan tadi diterima kembali.

Apakah moral yang kita semua boleh belajar dari cerita ini?

Ramai yang tidak tahu tentang satu prinsip penting pemasaran yang satu ini – Jangan sesekali beri sebarang sebab mengapa mereka patut tukar menggunakan produk jenama anda kepada jenama lain. Mengapa? Jawapannya mudah, apabila para pengguna sudah bertukar kepada jenama pesaing anda yang terdekat, ini bermakna mereka berkemungkinan besar tidak akan kembali lagi menggunakan produk anda.

Sebenarnya anda boleh ‘hidu’ sekiranya seseorang pelanggan itu ingin berhenti menggunakan produk anda dan cuba untuk bertukar kepada jenama lain. Ini di antara faktor-faktor utama yang anda patut dapat ‘hidu’ lebih awal dan elakkannya lebih awal.

  1. Harga anda tidak lagi kompetitif.
  2. Kualiti produk anda semakin menurun.
  3. Pengalaman mereka ketika berurusan dengan anda atau ketika menggunakan produk anda sudah tidak lagi menarik seperti dahulu.
  4. Mereka berasa sudah tidak lagi mudah atau convenient untuk membeli dari anda. 
  5. Mereka tidak ada alasan yang baik lagi mengapa mereka perlu terus menggunakan produk anda.
  6. Mereka mempunyai sebab yang lebih baik untuk membeli produk lain berbanding produk anda.

Cuba anda lihat senario syarikat televisyen kabel yang berbayar di negara ini, dan juga di negara lain. Hampir kesemua syarikat-syarikat ini semakin terdesak untuk meningkatkan jumlah pelanggan mereka kerana setiap hari akan ada sahaja pelanggan-pelanggan yang ingin menghentikan kontrak mereka secara berjemaah. Mereka sebaliknya ingin beralih kepada jenama-jenama televisyen streaming atau on-demand yang hanya perlu dimuat-turun di peranti mudah alih masing-masing. Mengapa? Sama seperti faktor-faktor yang dikongsikan di atas, mereka sebenarnya:

  1. Berasakan harga yang dibayar terlalu mahal berbanding apa yang ditawarkan. Sebaliknya mereka boleh dapatkan tawaran nilai yang lebih baik dari syarikat-syarikat televisyen streaming itu tadi.
  2. Bosan dengan program yang sentiasa berulang-ulang sejak beberapa tahun lalu membuatkan pelanggan-pelanggan mengeluh “asyik tengok cerita yang sama saja”. 
  3. Bosan dengan kualiti perkhidmatan pelanggan yang teruk.
  4. Tidak ada pilihan lain iaitu tiada perkhidmatan syarikat televisyen kabel alternatif yang lebih baik berbanding jenama yang ada sekarang.
  5. Berasakan lebih mudah untuk menonton apa sahaja di telefon mudah alih mereka berbanding peti televisyen.

Ini baharu satu senario yang amat ketara. Terdapat lagi beberapa industri di Malaysia yang tidak peka dengan apa kemahuan pasaran di luar sana. Syarikat-syarikat yang tidak begitu peka dengan hal begini sudah semestinya tidak akan peka juga dengan perkembangan semasa yang wujud di luar sana sehinggakan tanpa sedar mereka memberikan sebab secara langsung dan terang-terang kepada para pelanggan mereka yang sedia ada untuk mencari produk dari jenama lain.

Ini juga secara tidak langsung dan tanpa mereka sedari juga ia mengesahkan yang jenama mereka sendiri sudah semakin tidak relevan lagi dan sedang bergerak ke arah kepupusan. Kesian.
