Urban Company and Blinkit have formed a partnership to redefine the home appliance market. The partnership focuses on streamlined delivery and installation of Urban Company’s Native M1 and M2 water purifiers. Deliveries are expected within 30 minutes, and setups within three hours. This innovative partnership aims to set new customer service benchmarks in the convenience and efficiency of home services.

Expanding Horizons for Blinkit

Blinkit has expanded its product range by partnering with Urban Company to offer home appliances. CEO Albinder Dhindsa highlighted the innovative features of Native water purifiers, which eliminate the need for servicing for up to two years. This move not only expands Blinkit’s catalog but also introduces a new dimension to its quick-commerce capabilities.

Urban Company’s introduction of the Native M1 and M2 water purifiers in October 2023 is indicative of its strategy to diversify and innovate within the home service market. Varun Khaitan, Co-founder and COO of Urban Company, has emphasized the integration of these products with the Urban Company app, which allows for real-time monitoring of water quality and usage. Blinkit’s Quick Commerce Model: A Closer Look

Blinkit’s operational model is at the core of this partnership’s promise for rapid delivery. Utilizing a network of dark stores located strategically for efficiency, Blinkit’s quick-commerce platform exemplifies the modern approach to e-commerce and delivery. The process encompasses:

  • Order Placement: Customers can easily place orders through the Blinkit app or website, accessing a wide range of products.
  • Order Fulfillment: The platform sources items from nearby stores, ensuring that orders are prepared swiftly.
  • Delivery: Orders are delivered by Blinkit’s network of delivery partners, emphasizing speed and efficiency.
  • Payment Options: Multiple payment methods are available, enhancing customer convenience.

Blinkit, a quick-commerce platform, sets a high standard by delivering orders within 10 minutes for most items, backed by a commission-based revenue model that has proven successful in the industry.

Urban Company’s sale of over 15,000 units of its Native water purifiers within just four months of their launch speaks volumes about the market demand for innovative and convenient home solutions. This success is a reflection of the growing trend towards smart home appliances, with the global smart home market expected to reach $174 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 13.4% from 2020 to 2025.

Furthermore, Blinkit’s operational efficiency, demonstrated by its capability to deliver orders within 10 minutes, showcases the effectiveness of its quick-commerce model.
