Tidak Ada Potensi Kejayaan Bagi Mereka Yang Malas

Suka atau tidak, setiap antara kita hari ini adalah satu jenama. Ya, tanpa bersyarat, tanpa memiliki syarikat, tanpa produk, tanpa logo, tanpa memerlukan sebuah laman web pun! 

Jenama peribadi merujuk kepada imej dan reputasi kita sebagai individu. Secara langsung atau sebaliknya, imej kita sentiasa dinilai, dihukum dan dipandang dengan persepsi yang positif dan kadangkalanya negatif, baik ataupun buruk.

Sebaik saja melangkah keluar di awal pagi, secara tidak langsung kita sudah mencorakkan kejayaan (masa depan) tanpa kita sedari.

Perkataan yang dipilih antaranya seperti “Malaslah!”, “Saya tiada masa nak buat” atau “Ahh! Menjaga imej itu tidak penting, tunggu saya dah kaya atau ada nama, baru fikir”.

Sejurus memilih perkataan dan alasan di atas, anda telah meletakkan kejayaan anda 5 tahun ke belakang. Sedangkan yang lain bertungkus lumus untuk maju, anda memilih untuk menjadi sebaliknya.

Impak Visual

Dalam membina imej yang baik, visual atau penampilan diri kita akan dinilai terlebih dahulu pada pandangan pertama selain penggunaan bahasa badan, ekspresi muka, intonasi suara dan pilihan perkataan yang dilontarkan. Kombinasi ini, iaitu visual dan bahasa badan merupakan komunikasi bukan lisan yang harus dititikberatkan. 

Apa yang terlihat pada pandangan (visual), apa yang dibaca dan didengar tentang seseorang akan terus dinilai, selain pengalaman peribadi yang lalu juga melalui deria secara sentuhan mahupun bau. 

Pastikan pengalaman yang dilalui mereka itu sesuatu yang bernilai, menguntungkan anda malah terus diingati untuk satu jangkamasa yang panjang.

Saranan saya, sebaik sahaja mood M.A.L.A.S anda menjengah, tukarkannya menjadi perkataan IMEJ (bayangkan IMEJ peribadi atau visual diri anda sendiri di dalam kotak minda).

Katakan pada diri sendiri, 

  • Kalau saya MALAS, ia bakal merosakkan IMEJ dan REPUTASI PERIBADI saya.
  • Kalau saya TIADA MASA, akan saya awalkan jam loceng untuk memastikan saya ADA MASA. 
  • Kalau saya KATA TIDAK PENTING, tiada siapa yang bakal mencorakkan kejayaan (peribadi/karier/bisnes) KECUALI DIRI SAYA SENDIRI.

Sabotaj Imej Peribadi

Tidak dapat dinafikan ramai yang beriya-iya untuk mencapai kejayaan dalam kehidupan mereka. Tetapi percayalah, ramai antara mereka ini sebenarnya dalam diam mensabotaj imej peribadi tanpa disedari. Sedangkan imej peribadi ini sebahagian besar daripada penjenamaan individu, kekurangannya ibarat sebuah kek (tanpa hiasan) yang nampak seakan sedap, tetapi mengecewakan sebaik dimakan.

Adakalanya perkara ini terjadi kerana terdapatnya jurang pemahaman tentang pentingnya untuk seseorang individu itu memantapkan kedua-dua nilai rasional dan nilai emosional diri mereka. Nilai-nilai rasional (dalam konteks penjenamaan) merujuk kepada pencapaian akademik hari ini, kemahiran, pengalaman lalu dan kekuatan diri. Manakala nilai-nilai emosional pula merujuk ketrampilan, personaliti dan gaya peribadi anda – dan bagaimana orang ramai berhubung dengan anda secara emosi. Ia menyebabkan mereka mudah suka kepada anda dan percaya untuk berurusan pada peringkat seterusnya. 

Menurut ahli ekonomi D.S. Hamermesh di dalam buku, “Beauty That Pays : Why Attractive People Are More Successful” beliau merumuskan bahawa individu yang berketerampilan menarik sering mendapat lebih peluang di dalam kehidupan dan diberikan gaji yang lebih lumayan. Secara peribadi, saya amat menyokong kenyataan ini kerana ia menggambarkan individu yang berketrampilan menarik ini sebenarnya sanggup meluangkan lebih masa untuk memperbaiki dirinya ke arah yang lebih baik, setiap hari secara konsisten. Dan kerana usahanya yang lebih itu, tidak hairanlah golongan ini mendapat lebih banyak perhatian dan sering mendapat hasil yang lumayan. 

Ya, kita tidak boleh menjadi individu yang tinggi, kurus dan cantik bak peragawati (model) mahupun secantik selebriti popular. Tetapi, kita boleh sahaja tampil dengan imej yang menarik tidak kiralah apa pun saiz, bentuk dan ciri-ciri fizikal kita hari ini. Gambarkan badan dan muka anda sebagai kanvas kosong. Apakah warna, tekstur dan simbol yang boleh mewakili nilai-nilai peribadi anda dan personaliti peribadi.

Jika anda tiada masa untuk diri sendiri, siapa agaknya yang ada masa untuk anda?
