PETALING JAYA (5 August 2024): SEDANIA Innovator Berhad (“SEDANIA” or “the Group”) proudly announces the appointment of Tun Md Raus, the 14th Chief Justice of Malaysia, to its esteemed Board of Directors, effective 2 August 2024.
Tun Md Raus, with a career in the Malaysian judiciary and legal service spanning nearly five decades, brings an unparalleled wealth of experience and insight to SEDANIA. His illustrious journey began in 1976 and saw him in key roles such as Magistrate, Deputy Public Prosecutor, and Legal Advisor to prominent ministries including the Ministry of International Trade, Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Additionally, he served as State Legal Advisor for Malacca and Kelantan, and as Treasury Solicitor with the Ministry of Finance.
Elevated to Judicial Commissioner on 1 November 1994, Tun Md Raus swiftly rose to High Court Judge by 12 January 1996, serving across Shah Alam, Muar, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur in various divisions. His remarkable career progressed further as he joined the Court of Appeal on 28 July 2006, and then the Federal Court on 14 October 2009, ultimately becoming Malaysia’s 14th Chief Justice on 1 April 2017. Internationally, he has been honored as President of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions, and actively contributed to the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ).
