Growing concerns around child and elderly safety in Malaysia
Malaysia is seeing heightened concerns over the safety of vulnerable groups, particularly children and the elderly. According to the Royal Malaysia Police, a large number of children have gone missing in Malaysia, where almost 14,000 children have been reported missing since 2014. At the same time, Malaysia has also seen a growing number of cases involving elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia, going missing. The Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) estimates that between 204,000 and 264,000 Malaysians were living with dementia requiring full-time care in 2020, and the number is projected to more than triple by 2050 as the country becomes an aging nation.
These statistics highlight the urgent need for accessible, real-time tracking tools that help families care for their loved ones more effectively. This rising need is also reflected in the country’s indoor positioning and tracking system market, where it is projected to reach USD 19.5 billion by 2033, exhibiting a CAGR of 16.4% from 2026 to 2033.
As of 2025, iSharing recorded a 182.32 per cent year-over-year increase in user acquisition and a 194.36 per cent rise in App Store downloads, reflecting global demand for reliable family safety solutions. With user safety and experience at the core of its innovation, iSharing aims to become a trusted app for families seeking greater security, connectivity and contentment in an increasingly fast-paced world.
