Puma India has announced a significant change in its leadership lineup. Managing Director Abhishek Ganguly, who has been steering the company since 2014, will be stepping down from his role, making way for Karthik Balagopalan, the current global director of retail and e-commerce, starting August 1.
Ganguly is set to embark on a new entrepreneurial journey, leading his own venture. His dynamic leadership and energy have contributed immensely to Puma India’s success over the past 17 years.
Balagopalan, a Puma veteran since 2006, has held key management positions in retail operations and business development prior to spearheading the global direct-to-customer (DTC) business. As the new managing director, he will report directly to Puma’s CEO, Arne Freundt.

To ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities, Ganguly will remain with Puma until the end of August. This leadership change marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey.
