New Report Reveals Leading e-commerce Brands on YouTube by mentions

Influencer marketing proves to be a tremendously effective marketing strategy for brands — 80% of marketers confirm influencer marketing is the most effective one. And it is easy to explain: 61% of consumers trust influencer recommendations, and 30% say influencer recommendations are one of the key factors driving their purchasing decisions. 

Furthermore, online shopping has rapidly grown over the past years and is expected to continue to skyrocket. In 2021, e-commerce accounted for nearly 19 percent of retail sales worldwide. Forecasts indicate that by 2026, the online segment will make up close to a quarter of total global retail sales.

The BuzzGuru team has recently analyzed the landscape of influencer marketing in 2022 and found out the top 10 e-commerce brands that stood out from their competitors. Among these top 10 brands there are 6 Asian ones, and 5 of them are Korean. 

10. L-Tike

Total views: 1.2B

With 7.4K mentions on YouTube during the past year and 629 influencers involved, a Japanese ticket marketplace L-Tike opens our rank of top mentioned e-commerce brands on YouTube in 2022. What is surprising, among all these mentions, only 3 are paid. 

L-Tike is one of the three largest official ticket retailers in Japan. An interesting feature of the platform: if the ticket has been bought online but has not been shipped or printed yet, and the initial buyer is willing to sell it, the ticket agents can transfer it to another customer. And the new buyer will then be able to buy it at the regular price.

9. Interpark 

Total views: 1.23B

Interpark is Korea’s first online shopping platform. It started the service in 1996 and since that changed customers’ lives forever. Thanks to technical expertise, broad experience and strong brand, today it is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in the country. The platform offers a variety of goods and services, including tickets, reservation, tours, and books. Within 2022 Interpark store scored 10.1K mentions at 599 YouTube channels. In fact, 91% of them are Korean. 

8. Barnes & Noble

Total views: 6.01B

Here is the first representative coming from America — Barnes & Noble —  the largest US bookseller, included in the Fortune 1000 list, an annual list of the largest companies from the USA by revenues.

According to the BuzzGuru analytical platform, 378 YouTube influencers mentioned Barnes & Noble 10.1K times in 2022. 

7. Aladin

Total views: 1.57B

With 18.6K mentions on 787 YouTube channels in 2022, one more Korean ecommerce store shows off on our list. Aladin specializes in books, CDs, DVDs, as well as comics and K-Pop albums. The platform is considered a heaven for reading enthusiasts, and achieves the greatest part of its e-commerce sales in the “Electronics & Media” category. 

6. Poshmark 

Total views: 1.57B

A fresh vision of online stores is brought by Poshmark. It is a global online marketplace that offers new and secondhand clothing and accessories. Unlike eBay or Amazon, Poshmark offers social network features where customers follow, like, share, and comment on clothes listings. 794 influencers mentioned the brand 31.1K times, and almost 1/3 of these mentions are paid. Surprising, isn’t it? 

5. Coupang

Total views: 3.18B

Being the first marketplace and the largest online store in South Korea, Coupang was mentioned 32.1K times by almost 1400 content creators in 2022. The platform is often compared to American Amazon and even called “Amazon of South Korea” due to its market size. Founded in 2010, the platform skyrocketed, and today this is one of the top 3 employers in the region. 

4. Kyobobook

Total views: 4.2B

Bookstores turned out to prosper in 2022, and here again is an online store from South Korea that concentrates on the local market. Being the largest Korean bookstore chain, Kyobo Book Center receives about 180,000 visitors every day, both online and offline. As for the online store’s product range, it also covers different categories, such as “Toys, Hobby & DIY”, “Furniture & Appliances” as well as “Electronics & Media”.

During 2022, the store was mentioned on almost 1000 YouTube channels 35.6K times, and almost 450 mentions of this number was paid. 

3. Yes24

Total views: 3.92B

With 40.7K mentions made by 1192 YouTube influencers in 2022, Yes24 opens the top 3 list. In the Electronics & Media market in South Korea, Yes24 is ranked #3 Top Electronics & Media stores in South Korea with > US$484.3M in 2022. 

2. Audible

Total views: 6.77B

Not only print books and ebooks are extremely prosperous, the same goes for audiobooks, and the first brand that comes to mind here is Audible. Being a part of Amazon, Audible is one of the most successful online distributors of audiobooks in the world. And here are the figures to prove this: 44.7K YouTube mentions in 2022. 78% of almost 1500 influencers involved are American. 

1. Amazon 

Total views: 105+B

An undisputed leader in the ranking, world’s largest online retailer and marketplace Amazon was the most talked about brand on YouTube in 2022, with 1.22M mentions. The BuzzGuru influencer marketing platform reports that 44.75K influencers worldwide. They mentioned the brand. Only 5.2K of those mentions are paid. It is noteworthy that 70% of these influencers are American.
