Global Top Mobile Game in April 2024:Supercell Regains its Position at the Top Worldwide

With the aid of its App Intelligence and other modules, SocialPeta sorted out the top 20 global mobile games by advertising, revenue, and download in April 2024, hoping to be of assistance to more people in the mobile game industry who are trying to understand the changing trends of the global mobile market.

The overall performance of global mobile games  in April:

  • HOMA has launched another casual hit, “Clean It: Restaurant Cleanup!”, with an impressive 7,000 ad creatives focused on floor cleaning.
  • The bishoujo harem game genre saw a significant surge, with 【NIKKE】 experiencing a 41.3% increase in revenue for its 1.5th anniversary.
  • MiHoYo’s【Genshin Impact】 made a strong comeback with the help of its new servant system, achieving a combined revenue of $30.8 million across both platforms in April.
  • Supercell has returned to the pinnacle of the global market, with “Brawl Stars” experiencing a resurgence and “Squad Busters” gaining immense popularity even before its official release.

Top 20 Mobile Games by Advertising in April 2024

1. HOMA’s advertising made the list, with another standout ASMR casual mobile game.

HOMA’s casual management mobile game 【Clean It: Restaurant Cleanup!】 is another popular “casual+” mobile game recently. It combines extremely stress-relieving cleaning and organizing gameplay with the idle management mechanics commonly used in hyper-casual games. Featuring its unique polygon stickman art style, the game has attracted a substantial player base. The game was officially released on February 23, 2024. According to SocialPeta,【Clean It: Restaurant Cleanup!】 had nearly 7,000 unique ad creatives in April, with a total of 71 days of ad placement. The specific iOS ad placement details are as follows:

  • Ads were placed in a total of 52 regions, with the main markets being the United States, Mexico, and Italy.
  • In the past 30 days, the casual media category ranked first in terms of ad placement share, accounting for as much as 57.14%, followed by puzzle and card games.
  • Among the ad creatives in the past 30 days, video ads accounted for as much as 99.84%.
  • Videos shorter than 30 seconds accounted for 71.7%.
  • Most of the video ad creatives were in a vertical 800×1000 format, accounting for approximately 26.88%.

 

According to SocialPeta, 【Clean It: Restaurant Cleanup!】 focuses on showcasing the cleaning aspects of the game. It not only fully invests in video creatives but also takes the audiovisual stimulation to the extreme. Firstly, the visual impact is significant, transitioning from a dirty, cluttered, and cockroach-infested environment to a sparkling clean space. This dramatic before-and-after transformation creates a strong visual impact. Additionally, some extreme elements, such as large cockroaches and 💩, add a touch of curiosity and novelty to the visuals. The text at the top of the ad creatives mentioning “No WiFi needed” and “No ads to watch” is a standard feature for IAA (in-app advertising) mobile games.

It is worth mentioning the auditory experience of 【Clean It: Restaurant Cleanup!】. The ASMR cleaning sound effects are almost directly borrowed from the viral window cleaning and carpet washing audio clips on YouTube and TikTok. The background music (BGM) often features popular TikTok songs or the BGM from Nintendo’s single-player game 【Animal Crossing】. The combination of visual impact with the relaxing and enjoyable auditory experience makes the ad creatives more appealing.

  • 【Brawl Stars】, the veteran shooter mobile game from Supercell, marked the first major revival of an old game in 2024. It generated $38.7 million in revenue on a single platform in April, a month-over-month increase of approximately 33%, with U.S. players contributing a significant 32.6% of the total revenue.
  • 【Genshin Impact】, the anime-style open-world mobile game from miHoYo, saw strong promotion for its new five-star character “The Knave.” It generated $16.1 million in revenue on a single platform in April, a month-over-month increase of approximately 73.1%.
  • 【GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE】, the beautiful girl shooter mobile game from Tencent, celebrated its 1.5-year anniversary event in April. The game generated $8.9 million in revenue on a single platform, a month-over-month increase of approximately 41.3%.

 

Top Performing Products on Google Play in April:

  • 【AFK Journey】, the card RPG mobile game from Lilith Games, launched on March 23. After 30 days of open beta, it generated $10.2 million in revenue on a single platform in April.
  • 【Free Fire】, the shooter mobile game from Garena, generated $15.2 million in revenue on a single platform in April, a month-over-month increase of approximately 15.2%, with U.S. players contributing a significant 22.4% of the total revenue.
  • 【Summoners War】, the card RPG mobile game from Com2uS, celebrated its ten-year anniversary with a major event in April. The game generated $7.4 million in revenue on a single platform, a month-over-month increase of approximately 32.1%.

Top 20 Mobile Games by Downloads  in April 2024

Top Downloaded Products on the App Store in April:

  • 【Dragon POW!】, the roguelike shooter mobile game from BOLTRAY GAMES, launched on April 18. It was downloaded approximately 2.8 million times on a single platform in April.
  • 【Supermarket Manager Simulator】, the mobile version of the hit simulation game【Supermarket Simulator】 from Digital Melody, launched on April 1. It was downloaded approximately 2 million times on a single platform in April.
  • 【Tokyo Debunker】, the female-oriented RPG mobile game from ZigZaGame, launched on April 18. It was downloaded approximately 1.6 million times on a single platform in April.

Top Downloaded Products on Google Play in April:

  • 【Pizza Ready!】, the hyper-casual mobile game from Supercent, topped the Google Play download charts with approximately 19.8 million downloads on a single platform in April, a month-over-month increase of approximately 90.4%. Indian players contributed 18.2% of the downloads.
  • 【Squad Busters】, the sixth new game from Supercell, conducted tests in multiple regions including Mexico, Spain, and Denmark, with approximately 6.4 million downloads on a single platform in April.
  • 【Relax Mini Games】, the stress-relief game collection from SUPERIOR STUDIO, saw approximately 5.7 million downloads on a single platform in April, a month-over-month increase of approximately 418.2%. Brazilian players contributed 16.7% of the downloads.
