We recently released our list of the Top Belugium Startups To Watch in2022.

Belgium is experiencing good growth in its startup market at the moment, with Belgian startups reportedly poised for international expansion to overcome the limiting factor of a small population. This is good news from a country that keeps producing top startups, despite that factor. This also shows that the country is likely to start exporting and even retaining more unicorns as more companies focus on international markets.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, everything looked perfect for Belgium. The number of startups in the country increased by 4% between 2018 and 2019. In addition to this, 90% of startup owners in the country have said that Belgium is a great place to do business. Finally, the actual investment into Belgian startups has been steadily growing and it increased from 353 Million Euros in 2018, to 495 Million Euros in2019.

1. Showpad

The company has managed to make a significant amount of money from startup funding since being founded a decade ago. This was made by six investors and the company managed to claw in a total of $159.9 Million. The startup from Belgium has also managed to make a number of acquisitions, with a total of six being recorded.

The company has attracted startup funding from a variety of sources, numbering eight. This led to the startup raising a large sum of money to further its growth and development in existing and new markets. In total, this investment reached an amount of $86.8 Million, which is a considerable amount to bring in, especially in threeyears.

Qover has seen a very healthy amount of investment throughout its five years of trading. So for, the business has managed to attract a large amount of funding from a group of seven investors. In total, the company managed to raise a figure of $41.7 Million to further its growth and development, hope andabroad.

5. Guardsquare

This is why the company is a great example of a Belgium startup that is killing it at themoment.

The company has only received startup funding from a single source, that being Battery Ventures. This was spread over two funding rounds, with one taking place in 2015 and the other in 2019. The collective investment total from both of these rounds came to a figure of $29.6 Million, which isnt bad for a single investor.

The startup has managed to raise a massive amount of startup funding in its five years of trading. The actual total of this funding amounted to a figure of $88.7 Million- which is an amazing result in five years. This funding was achieved through a group of five investors.

11. Medispring
