Foodpanda Unveils the New Grocery Pick-Up Feature in Pandamart

Foodpanda, the global online food delivery giant, takes a leap forward in the e-commerce industry, introducing a pick-up feature for pandamart customers. Currently available in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore, the feature will be expanded to Bangladesh and Pakistan in the upcoming months, allowing customers to collect their groceries in person, besides availing the delivery option. This endeavor promises users a blend of convenience and flexibility in receiving their orders.

The Emergence of the Phygital Shopping Model

The introduction of the pick-up feature is a key aspect of pandamart’s strategic plan to revolutionize the shopping experience through O2O (Online-to-Offline) commerce. As global consumer insights from a PWC survey suggest, even though customers are gravitating back to physical stores post-Covid, there is a growing demand for an enhanced online shopping experience. This led to the creation of a ‘phygital’ shopping model that seamlessly combines the physical and digital shopping experience, a concept that is gaining significant popularity.

Enhancing the Customer Experience

“pandamart has made it easier for people to shop for groceries now – customers can place an order at any time of the day, and have it delivered to their doorstep within the hour. With pick-up, customers’ experience on the foodpanda platform can now be complemented with a physical in-store experience, giving them more options in the way they shop and receive their orders that better suit their lifestyles and preferences,” elaborated Julien Tessonneau, Senior Director of Quick Commerce (Q-commerce) at foodpanda.

A Leap into the Future of Shopping

In addition to providing greater convenience, the new pick-up feature ensures faster delivery of orders. Customers visiting the concept store in Hong Kong can place orders instantly and pick them up in as fast as 5 minutes. In Singapore and Malaysia, customers can self-collect their orders in as quickly as 15 minutes, making this the fastest online grocery service in the respective markets.
