Kuala Lumpur, 2 September 2024 – The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Malaysia is gearing up to captivate Malaysian families seeking the perfect holiday destination where they can bond, relax, and create unforgettable memories. With a targeted content collaboration, STB aims to position Singapore as the go-to destination for families, especially those with young children, by showcasing its warm, welcoming atmosphere and wide array of family-friendly experiences.

A Collaborative Journey with Malaysian Personalities

In an effort to resonate deeply with Malaysian audiences, STB Malaysia has joined forces with renowned Malaysian personalities Farah Nabilah and Elecher Lee. These influential figures will share their family travel stories, highlighting the emotive bonds of togetherness that emerge while exploring Singapore’s iconic attractions and hidden gems. This heartfelt content aims to inspire families to choose Singapore as their annual holiday spot, where every moment spent together becomes an opportunity to create cherished memories.

Why Singapore is the Ideal Destination for Families

According to Agoda’s Family Travel Trend Survey 2022, more than 80 percent of travellers plan to vacation with their immediate family, and over half are keen to reconnect with relatives during their holidays. For Malaysian travellers, 35 percent are likely to plan two or more family trips each year. Singapore’s close proximity, ease of travel, and diverse offerings make it a top choice for Malaysian families looking for a convenient yet enriching holiday experience.

Terrence Voon, Executive Director, Southeast Asia, STB, emphasized the appeal of Singapore for Malaysian families, stating, “Families with young children are a key segment in the Malaysia market, and we believe Singapore is an ideal destination for their holiday needs. We are just a short flight away, and it’s easy for families to get around our city to enjoy a wide range of family-friendly experiences. With the convenience and peace of mind that Singapore offers, we believe family travellers can focus on what really matters – enjoying precious moments and building lasting memories together.”

Exciting New Developments Awaiting Families in Singapore

Singapore has recently introduced a range of new attractions and enhancements designed to cater to the needs and preferences of family travellers. Highlights include the expansion of Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa, where the S.E.A. Aquarium is being transformed into the spectacular Singapore Oceanarium. The rejuvenation of Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s parks, along with the addition of the Mandai Rainforest Resort, offers even more nature-centric experiences for families. Additionally, The Palawan Sentosa now boasts the Sentosa Sensoryscape, providing an immersive, multi-sensorial adventure that both adults and children will love.

Families can also look forward to staying at some of Singapore’s most family-friendly hotels, such as the Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay with its gnome-themed family rooms, Shangri-La Singapore on Orange Grove Road featuring new children’s facilities, and the Pan Pacific Singapore on Raffles Blvd, which offers jungle-themed rooms in partnership with Kiztopia.

A Holiday to Reconnect and Create Memories

The collaborative content, starring Farah Nabilah and Elecher Lee, showcases how Malaysian families can make Singapore their annual holiday destination to reconnect and create meaningful moments together. The experiences shared by these personalities will guide families through quintessential Singaporean experiences, from exploring renowned attractions to uncovering hidden gems that turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Farah and Elecher will also share personal stories of their travels, revealing the surprises and discoveries they made with their children and even about each other during their Singapore vacations.
