BIBA, the iconic Indian fashion powerhouse, has unveiled its inspiring digital campaign “Strength Meets Style” to coincide with International Women’s Day, featuring the indomitable spirit of Indian cricketer Renuka Singh Thakur. This campaign is a heartfelt ode to the enduring strength and dynamic style of the women of India, aiming to dismantle the enduring stereotypes that have long defined femininity in society.

At the heart of this campaign is a compelling film that draws parallels between the daunting challenges faced by a woman cricketer and the daily resilience exhibited by the contemporary Indian woman. By drawing from real-life scenarios, the film presents a poignant and relatable narrative that challenges societal norms and celebrates the unyielding courage of women who dare to defy these preconceived notions.

Renuka Singh Thakur’s journey in the film is a testament to determination and self-belief. It showcases her refusal to conform to societal expectations, as she trains diligently in cricket, confronting and overcoming the stereotypes placed upon her as a woman. Her story is not just told; it is lived with boldness and pride, underlining BIBA’s commitment to fostering diversity and reshaping perceptions of women in society.

BIBA’s “Strength Meets Style” campaign is more than just a fashion statement; it’s a clarion call for women everywhere to embrace their authenticity, challenge the status quo, and chart their own paths with courage and style.

BIBA, a synonym for pretty women in Punjabi, is literally a home-grown Indian fashion wear brand, started by Mrs. Meena Bindra from her house in Bombay with a partly sum of eight thousand, way back in 1988. Soon, the brand started spreading its wings in and around the city as the product’s styling and beautiful handblock prints started getting a fantastic response from the local communities, including many film stars as well. BIBA products are available through 355 stores across 26 states in India, apart from the presence in all the major retail chains in the country like Shopper’s Stop, Lifestyle, Pantaloons and Central. Over the years, the brand has received awards & recognition from various organizations like Shoppers Stop, Myntra, Images Group for being the ‘Most Admired Women’s Indian Wear Brand’ on many occasions credited to its innovative designs, fit, silhouettes and varied colour palette. Our Founder & Chairperson Mrs. Meena Bindra has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by CMAI and Franchise India for her contribution to the apparel industry.
