Social networks had already changed the lives of people in the world. Over 3.5 billion people ‎are actively using different social media platforms for communication, business, learning, ‎searching, and also entertaining.‎

Now that the coronavirus has attacked the human being, the importance of social apps has ‎even increased. People are increasingly using digital technologies, especially social media to ‎reduce their physical contacts and abide by social distancing orders.‎

Social media has helped to gain the most updated information about the pandemic and be ‎prepared for it. A massive amount of related hashtags such as #Stay_at_Home became trends ‎among all social platforms. This alone clearly shows that social media has been really helpful ‎during the COVID-19 pandemic.‎

Many businesses, on the other hand, increased their dependence on digitalization. For example, ‎social media marketing is now of more use to them because it allows marketers to keep in ‎touch with their community without any social presence.‎

It’s not impossible that these changes remain even in the aftermath of removing lockdowns and ‎social distancing orders. So the position of social media platforms in people’s lives has ‎strengthened and in other words, the world has become more digitalized.‎

As a result, the platforms have also reacted remarkably to the new circumstance by taking ‎various measures. The main purpose of them was to keep people informed and safe.‎

Supporting public challenges, enhancing blood donation tools, donating millions of dollars to ‎governments and health systems, and many other items are some examples of reactions of ‎social networks’ owners to the crisis.‎

In fact, they tried to contribute to the global fight against the coronavirus with anything they ‎had.

Of course, they are among the wealthiest people in the world and their reactions can set ‎examples for other businesses and individuals.‎
