Asahi Super Dry, Japan’s leading beer brand, has reimagined Lunar New Year festivities with a limited-edition packaging design created in collaboration with the renowned Japanese art project, TERADAMOKEI. This creative partnership combines Asahi’s modern vibrancy with TERADAMOKEI’s hallmark Model Kit concept, capturing the joy of creation and festivity in each can.

Available across the Asia-Pacific region, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, and debuting in Vietnam, the unique design transforms traditional celebrations into modern, innovative expressions of community and creativity.

The Story Behind TERADAMOKEI’s Artistry

TERADAMOKEI, founded in 2011 by architect and designer Naoki Terada, is known for its inventive 1:100 scale Model Kits. These artistic kits reimagine the medium by focusing on human interactions rather than machinery, replacing traditional plastic with eco-friendly paper.

“Our work at TERADAMOKEI is all about sharing the joy of creation through Model Kits, so knowing that this limited-edition can will inspire festive moments of fun among friends is a great source of satisfaction for me,” said Naoki Terada.

Design Highlights

The limited-edition packaging showcases a vibrant Lunar New Year social scene. Key elements include:

  • Barley and Hops in Yellow: A nod to Asahi Super Dry’s core ingredients.
  • Speech Bubbles: Symbolizing the connections people forge during celebrations.
  • Red and Silver Tones: A dynamic fusion of traditional Lunar New Year red with Asahi’s iconic silver for a modern twist.

The cans also feature festive visuals, from decorated tables to joyous gatherings, capturing the essence of Lunar New Year celebrations.
