Tahukah anda Google menukar algoritma mereka berkali-kali setahun? Ini bermakna kaedah yang anda gunakan hari ini mungkin tidak akan menjanjikan hasil yang baik lagi pada hari esok mahupun pada masa yang akan datang. Dengan kata lain, dengan perubahan yang begini kerap amat sukar untuk memastikan laman web anda akan sentiasa berada pada mukasurat yang pertama atau kedua sekiranya sesuatu maklumat, produk atau perkhidmatan itu dicari oleh seseorang.

Terlalu ramai yang masih taksub dengan kewujudan aplikasi atau perisian yang ‘menjanjikan’ hasil enjin pencarian atau SEO yang baik. Mereka rela membayar untuk ini, walaupun harganya agak keterlaluan. Malangnya selepas setahun mencubanya, baharu mereka sedar tiada hasil yang jelas dapat dilihat sama sekali. Mereka bukan sahaja rugi dari segi wang ringgit tetapi juga masa.

Tidak lama dahulu, terdapat hanya beberapa ratus sahaja aplikasi dan perisian yang wujud di pasaran untuk SEO, tetapi kini terdapat berpuluh ribu yang boleh anda pilih. Malangnya tiada satu pun yang mampu menjamin yang perisian mereka akan memberikan hasil yang anda kehendaki.

Jawapan kepada kedudukan ranking yang tinggi di Google bukan sebenarnya terletak pada aplikasi atau perisian yang wujud di pasaran. Anda sebaliknya perlu memberikan perhatian penuh kepada faktor-faktor asas yang sentiasa relevan dari masa ke semasa. Apakah faktor-faktor itu?

Penulisan artikel. Tidak seperti di negara-negara Barat yang menggunakan tulisan, suara atau teknik yang pelik-pelik untuk mencari sesuatu di Google, hampir kesemua orang di Malaysia masih lagi mencari dengan menaip di kotak pencarian di Google. Ini jelas menunjukkan anda perlu sentiasa menulis artikel bagi mencapai matlamat ini, dan ia perlu berterusan secara konsisten. Setiap artikel yang ditulis pula perlu berada di dalam laman web syarikat anda dan bukannya berasingan.

Tajuk. Mempunyai tajuk yang dioptimumkan untuk enjin pencarian juga sangat penting. Apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan mengoptimumkan tajuk untuk enjin pencarian? Katakan anda mempunyai tajuk tersendiri untuk artikel terbaharu yang anda akan tulis. Sekiranya anda memasukkan tajuk tadi di kotak pencarian Google dan menekan butang Search, anda akan melihat senarai tajuk-tajuk yang disediakan oleh Google pada mukasurat pertama. Tajuk-tajuk ini mempunyai kedudukan ranking yang tinggi kerana penggunaan perkataan-perkataan yang tertentu yang dioptimumkan untuk enjin pencarian. Ia sedikit berbeza dari perkataan yang anda pilih untuk tajuk anda sendiri. Jadi di sini anda perlu menggunakan perkataan-perkataan yang digunakan oleh tajuk-tajuk yang tertera daripada tajuk anda sendiri untuk mendapatkan kedudukan ranking yang baik.

Kata kunci. Dalam industri anda, terdapat beberapa kata kunci yang sering digunakan oleh para pemain industri, dan anda perlu mengambil kesempatan ke atas kata-kata kunci ini ke dalam artikel anda. Kumpul dan senaraikan kata-kata kunci ini dan kemudiannya gunakan mereka dalam setiap penulisan artikel. Apabila Google melihat anda sering menggunakan kata-kata kunci ini, mereka akan melihat anda sebagai sebuah jenama yang mempunyai autoriti dalam industri tersebut.

Pautan dari luar. Apabila penulisan artikel anda berkualiti tinggi dan disukai oleh pembaca, akan wujud keadaan di mana beberapa laman web luar akan mula membuat rujukan kepada laman web anda. Mereka akan membina pautan pada perkataan-perkataan tertentu di dalam artikel mereka yang apabila diklik akan terus kepada laman web anda. Pautan sebegini amat bernilai di mata Google. Ini bermakna autoriti jenama anda sangat besar.

Infografik, video, gambar dan nama fail. Ketika anda memasukkan gambar, video atau infografik ke dalam laman web anda atau di dalam artikel yang dimuatnaik ke dalam laman web anda, pastikan terlebih dahulu nama-nama fail bagi gambar, video dan infografik tadi sama dengan tajuk artikel yang ditulis. Ini sangat penting agar algoritma Google dan enjin pencarian lain dalam membaca dan mengindeks perkataan-perkataan yang ada pada tajuk ke dalam senarai indeks mereka. Memandangkan algoritma-algoritma ini tidak dapat mengindeks gambar, video ataupun infografik, tetapi mereka boleh mengindeks nama-nama fail.
