Chindata Group, the premier carrier-neutral hyperscale data centre solution provider in Asia-Pacific emerging markets, has named Mr Wu Huapeng, the company’s previous China President, as its new CEO. With immediate effect, he will oversee the group’s strategic planning, organisation management, and business development. Mr Wu joined Chindata Group in 2019 as President of Chindata China and has built a pioneering “four-in-one” ecosystem of digital, economy, and industry around customers, ecological partners, telecom operators, and the government, and made profound breakthroughs in the company’s client diversification, continuous strong business growth, and advanced strategic layout, all while adhering to the “grow together, mutual success” principle.
“The appointment was made after thorough consideration and comprehensive evaluation. The Board recognizes Mr Wu’s ability and his contributions to the Group’s strategic insight, management expertise, business contribution and industrial resource. We will fully support Mr Wu’s leadership and management work as the Group’s CEO,” said the Chindata Group’s Board of Directors.
Mr Wu is the founder of the iTechClub Internet Technology Elite Club and the 1024 Academy, also served as Vice President of Phoenix New Media and CTO of Ifeng.com before joining Chindata Group. He was also the executive director of the China Computer Users Association and a member of the AETDEW (Academy of Engineering and Technology for Developing Countries). Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to top-level IT architectural design for China’s Internet business, promoting the importance of technological advancement in China’s digital era, and always focusing on reforming China’s computer sector’s ecological value. Mr Wu has impacted and inspired a slew of prominent Internet executives, and the industry and practitioners refer to him as the “headmaster.”
