Pemasaran bukanlah sesuatu yang asing lagi dalam dunia perniagaan. Sejak penciptaan enjin berkuasa wap yang menandakan bermulanya era Revolusi Industri pertama sekitar tahun 1760 lagi, pemasaran sudah pun memainkan peranan penting dalam merangsang pertumbuhan ekonomi dan industri. 

Trend pasaran turut berubah apabila pemain industri mula beralih kepada penemuan eletrik dan penciptaan enjin berkuasa petroleum bagi sektor pembuatan, sehinggalah menjadi keperluan umum pada Revolusi Industri kedua. Pengembangan eletronik, komputer dan teknologi informasi pada era Revolusi Industri ketiga pula telah merancakkan lagi pengaruh pasaran sehingga tahun 2016. 

Kini kita telah memasuki era perindustrian keempat, namun ia masih lagi diperingkat awal. Era yang juga dikenali sebagai era Internet Kebendaan (Internet of Things) ini mula dikuasai dengan penciptaan teknologi-teknologi baharu dalam pelbagai bidang merangkumi Kecerdasan Buatan, Pembangunan Teknologi Robotik, Bio dan Nano, Perkomputeran Awan, Data Besar serta memacu peralatan, jentera dan bangunan termasuk ekonomi dalam integrasi pengurusan fizikal, digital dan robotik.

Perubahan Industri Dan Pasaran 

Perubahan industri kali ini didasari dengan kuasa internet dan sedang berlaku dengan kadar yang pantas. Capaian internet bukan sahaja diperlukan untuk berkomunikasi dan mencari maklumat, tetapi menjadi nadi penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan kehidupan. Arus perubahan gaya hidup yang kita semua rasai sekarang adalah kesan daripada perkembangan revolusi indusri keempat yang menjadikan ekonomi digital sebagai landasan untuk terus mengorak ke hadapan. 

Krisis wabak Covid-19 juga telah mendorong menyuburkan lagi penggunaan teknologi digital secara lebih meluas dalam tempoh masa yang singkat. Atas faktor keselamatan sejagat, potensi platform digital telah membuka mata banyak pihak sebagai medium pilihan dalam memudahkan pelbagai urusan. Pengaruh ini sekali lagi telah memberi kesan yang besar kepada pengguna sehingga turut merangsang perubahan strategi dari pelbagai sektor industri dan komersil kepada dimensi baharu.

Kini pada tahun 2020 dengan anggaran penduduk dunia mencecah 7.6 billion, perkembangan industri meramalkan lebih 50 billion peranti eletronik akan terus berinteraksi antara satu sama lain dan akan terus bertambah. Ini menunjukkan jumlah peranti yang digunakan untuk keperluan digital melebihi jumlah manusia pada skala 6.58 peranti setiap seorang. Dunia maya kini menjadi ruangan pilihan untuk orang ramai berkumpul dan akan terus berkembang sebagai pasaran yang dominan.

Maka jika ditanya, sejauh mana pentingnya pemasaran digital dalam memacu perniagaan pada masa kini? Jawapannya sudah pasti adalah sangat penting. Ia landasan bakat untuk maju ke hadapan.

Pelbagai strategi pemasaran digital melalui platform laman web, e-dagang, blog dan media sosial kini perlu dimanfaatkan sebaiknya sebagai premis maya, corong jualan serta menjadi aset jangka panjang perniagaan. Mengurus kandungan dan ‘marketplace’ yang strategik juga mampu menghubungkan pelanggan secara terus disamping meluaskan lagi prospek pasaran yang lebih mampan.

Kepentingan Pemasaran Digital

Potensi pemasaran digital kini semakin dipercayai untuk pasaran yang lebih luas dan kos efektif kepada para usahawan. Apatah lagi dengan bertambahnya sektor yang terkesan akibat krisis pandemik, ia telah memaksa sebahagian besar peniaga mikro, perusahaan kecil dan sederhana sehinggalah sektor komersil bertaraf multinasional untuk meneroka dan menambahbaik strategi pemasaran digital bagi mempertingkatkan lagi nilai daya saing dan kredibiliti perniagaan.

Pemasaran digital menjadi tunggak utama yang perlu dikuasai oleh setiap perniagaan agar tidak tenggelam dalam persaingan industri. Ia sangat penting dalam era industri kini, malah turut menjadi tuntutan bagi sebahagian besar negara-negara di seluruh dunia untuk terus memperkukuh dasar digital dari masa ke semasa agar pembangunan ekonomi dapat terus utuh. 

Justeru itu, sektor perniagaan tidak boleh memandang remeh terhadap kesan perubahan teknologi dan trend digitalisasi. Memahami setiap elemen pemasaran digital bagi merangka perlaksanaan strategi terancang bukan sahaja penting untuk kekal releven, tetapi mampu membuka potensi pasaran yang sangat luas di Malaysia dan ke seluruh dunia dengan lebih kos efektif.
