Singapore, 30 May 2024 – In a significant rebranding effort, global technology leader Epson has launched its new brand message, “Engineered for Good,” across Southeast Asia. This strategic shift signifies Epson’s dedication to merging innovation with a purpose, aiming to create technology solutions that contribute to a sustainable future.

In a world where brand values and aspirations set companies apart, Epson is redefining its identity to focus on sustainability and meaningful innovation. The transition from its former brand message, “It’s In the Details,” marks a pivotal move for Epson to transcend product excellence and utilize technology to enhance communities. This new direction is closely tied to Epson’s corporate philosophy of ‘sho-sho-sei,’ a Japanese term meaning ‘efficient, compact, and precise.’

Commitment to Sustainability

Tan May Lin, Regional Director of Brand and Communications at Epson Southeast Asia, highlighted the importance of sustainability as a core element of responsible business practices. “The actions of individuals and businesses, no matter how small, will play an important part in helping Southeast Asia achieve a sustainable future. Epson recognizes that sustainability is a foundational element of responsible business practices. Hence, it is important that we communicate and advocate the use of Epson’s eco-efficient technology which helps reduce energy consumption, enhance productivity, and minimize the overall environmental impact of every Epson product,” she stated.

Epson’s “Engineered for Good” campaign embodies the company’s philosophy of delivering efficient, compact, and precise innovations. By further embracing innovation, Epson aims to address global environmental challenges and societal issues, enriching people’s lives and contributing to a better world.

Environmental Vision 2050

Epson’s rebranding is part of a broader commitment outlined in its Environmental Vision 2050. The company has set an ambitious goal to become carbon negative and underground resource-free by 2050. As of the end of 2023, Epson Southeast Asia has achieved 100% renewable energy usage at all major sites and factories worldwide. Additionally, Epson has completely phased out laser printers in the region due to their limited potential for sustainability improvements compared to inkjet printers.

Epson’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its continuous efforts to innovate and improve its product offerings. The company’s inkjet printers, for example, are designed to reduce energy consumption and minimize environmental impact, aligning with its eco-efficient technology advocacy.
