Xero, the global small business platform, today announced the launch of SG60: A Nation Built by Small Businesses, a customer campaign spotlighting local small businesses which embody the core values celebrated by Singapore’s 60th anniversary. As Singapore marks this milestone, the video series will showcase the diversity of the nation’s small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), guided by SG60’s overarching pillars of resilience, boldness, openness and multiculturalism.
“In the short span of 60 years, Singapore has evolved into a global business hub and economic powerhouse, its transformation underpinned by grit, tenacity, innovation and a celebration of diverse perspectives,” said Koren Wines, Managing Director, Xero Asia. “Everyday, these same values are lived and breathed by Singapore’s small business community – the unsung nation-builders that represent the heartbeat of the economy.”
Introducing Xero’s small business heroes
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) comprise 99% of all enterprises in Singapore, employ about 70% of the workforce and contribute about half of national GDP today. They are, unequivocally, the engine room of Singapore’s growth and their continued success is essential to shaping the country’s future.
“SMEs often operate on thin margins and resource constraints, making them the businesses most vulnerable to economic shifts and uncertainties. Yet, despite this pressure, they have consistently defied the odds to create an outsized, positive impact on the lives of their customers and communities,” said Wines. “Our campaign is a tribute to our customers — everyday businesses achieving extraordinary things. This SG60 campaign proudly shines a spotlight on Xero’s “Small Business Heroes,” featuring a diverse group of entrepreneurs whose stories of resilience and innovation embody the spirit of the nation. Businesses featured span social enterprises, technology innovators, sustainability champions and creative and digital agencies.

The site immediately features four customer videos, spotlighting Foreword Coffee, GOODSTUPH, Nandina REM and Oriental Remedies Group. Xero will continue to roll out new videos and articles in the coming months, deepening the exploration of how Singapore’s small businesses embody the spirit of SG60 across diverse sectors.
