What to Eat |
From melted cheese to traditional French dishes and local truffle treats, this is winter food at its finest. Start with the La Choucroute Alsacienne, a hearty Alsatian favourite featuring sauerkraut, sausages, and potatoes that’s guaranteed to warm the soul. Then swing by the Raclette Melted Cheese hut for bubbling cheese poured over warm potatoes – the ultimate alpine street food. |
Cheese lovers can also treat themselves to a curated selection of French cheeses by Long Paddock Cheese, or pick up some artisan nougat from Nougat Limar for a sweet, nutty snack. For something seasonal and luxe, don’t miss The Toasty Truffle, a pop-up by Crowne Plaza celebrating Canberra’s truffle season with rich, aromatic bites that’ll stop you in your tracks. No need to say, there is a lot more, with over 50 food specialties to offer at the festival! You can start your summer body diet after the event. What to Drink Warm up from the inside out with a cup from the festival’s legendary Mulled Wine Bar, or head over to the Hot Chocolate Bar where traditional French canelés are served alongside velvety cocoa. For something different and a little bit decadent, try Chocolate in a Bottle – a sparkling French Blanc de Blanc infused with the essence of Belgian chocolate and hazelnut. It’s bubbly, rich, and unforgettable. The festival also has a curation of French wines, beers, and more so you can warm up and enjoy the night. What to Cheer The festive spirit doesn’t stop at food and drink. Across the four days, the Christmas in July Festival will feature over 18 live shows, dance sets, and performances to get the good vibes going all day and night. On Friday night, don’t miss The Baker Boys Band lighting up the stage with a high-energy performance. Saturday kicks off with The Spectrum Big Band at 4:00 pm, followed by the massive Christmas Party with DJ Alex Carder from 9:00 pm. Canberra, are you ready to dance? The 6th Position dancers will bring festive cheer to the stage with a Christmas-themed show on Saturday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
