Resilient Hearts《心手相连献爱心》— Singapore Heart Foundation’s (SHF) 55th Anniversary Charity Show made a powerful return to television tonight after a 20-year hiatus, broadcasting live across Mediacorp Channel 8, meWATCH, and Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube.
Graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Ms Jane Ittogi, the live event raised S$2.6 million in support of SHF’s mission to promote heart health in Singapore. Funds will go towards key initiatives, including the development of a fourth Heart Wellness Centre, which will expand SHF’s community-based cardiac rehabilitation programme to residents in the eastern region.
“We are truly grateful and humbled by the overwhelming support received tonight,” said Geoffrey Ong, Chief Executive Officer of SHF. “Beyond raising funds, we hope the show highlighted SHF’s community impact and inspired more people to join us in building a heart-healthier Singapore for future generations.”
Themed “Resilient Hearts”, the show paid tribute to cardiac patients and the many individuals—volunteers, donors, healthcare professionals—who have championed SHF’s cause over the decades. Audiences were treated to heartfelt performances by local celebrities, clients of SHF’s Heart Wellness Centres, and volunteers, along with emotional stories spotlighting the resilience of those living with heart conditions.
As a symbolic gesture near the show’s close, iconic landmarks such as the Singapore Flyer, Singapore Sports Hub, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and ITE College West were illuminated in red. This visual tribute honoured heart patients’ strength and served as a reminder of the serious threat posed by cardiovascular disease.
