icketek Entertainment Group (TEG) celebrates last night’s announcement that Laneway Festival has won the inaugural ARIA Award for Best Festival, recognising more than two decades of innovation, cultural impact, and artist discovery across the APAC region.
Launched in 2005, Laneway Festival has evolved from a small Melbourne street party into one of the world’s most influential tastemaker festivals. Renowned for championing emerging artists and delivering exceptional live music experiences, Laneway continues to play a defining role in shaping contemporary music culture. This year’s win marks a major milestone as ARIA introduces the Best Festival category for the first time.
TEG’s Global Head of Touring, Tim McGregor, said the honour reflects the festival’s enduring contribution to the region’s live music landscape.
“Laneway has always been a festival that backs great music and emerging talent long before the rest of the world catches on. To see it recognised with the first-ever ARIA Award for Best Festival is a tremendous acknowledgement of the vision, passion, and hard work that’s gone into building it over the past 21 years. Congratulations to the Laneway team and we look forward to another brilliant festival in February 2026.”
TEG is proud to partner with Laneway Festival to bring the event to Fans across Australia and New Zealand, supporting its growth and its commitment to Australian music. The ARIA Award arrives during Aus Music Month, reinforcing the importance of homegrown artists and festivals in shaping the future of live entertainment.
Laneway Festival Co-Founders Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio said the award is a testament to the entire Laneway community, from artists and crews to Fans who have supported the festival since day one.
“We just wanted to throw a party for music we loved, and it somehow grew from there. To be recognised by the ARIAs as we mark our 21st year is incredibly humbling. It means a lot to all of us,” said Rogers.
Co-founder Jerome Borazio added, “The fact that people connect with what we do, across so many years and cities, is the greatest privilege.”
