iQIYI and Grab Malaysia unveil #CedokLife,

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Asian streaming giant iQIYI has teamed up with Grab Malaysia to present a Malaysian-themed mini-series, #CedokLife. Set to debut on 16 September 2023, the series aligns with the Malaysia Day festivities.

Key Highlights:

  • Unique Collaboration: iQIYI and Grab Malaysia come together for a special mini-series.
  • Everyday Heroes: The series delves into the lives of Grab drivers and delivery partners, showcasing their daily experiences.
  • Cultural Reflection: #CedokLife aims to mirror the true essence of Malaysian culture and identity.
  • Emerging Talents: The series boasts a cast from the local entertainment scene, further emphasizing its authentic Malaysian touch.

#CedokLife promises viewers a unique perspective into the daily lives of Malaysians, particularly through the experiences of Grab drivers and delivery partners. The series not only narrates their tales but also highlights their dreams, aspirations, and the challenges they face.

Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital, lauded this partnership. He emphasized how such collaborations enrich the local film industry and help narrate the diverse stories of Malaysia to a broader audience. He further remarked on the core values of unity and exceptional service that these individuals represent.

While the series has a comedic undertone, it doesn’t shy away from portraying genuine stories that resonate with the Malaysian identity. It underscores the interconnectedness of lives and the shared experiences that define the Malaysian ethos.

Dinesh Ratnam, the country manager of iQIYI Malaysia, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. He sees #CedokLife as a tribute to the unsung heroes who have molded the Malaysian lifestyle. The series is a testament to the spirit of Malaysia, celebrating its people and their stories.

Adelene Foo, the newly appointed managing director of Grab Malaysia, echoed similar sentiments. She emphasized the pivotal role that drivers and delivery partners play in the daily lives of Malaysians. Their stories, whether heartwarming, challenging, or simply intriguing, deserve to be told.

Before her tenure at Grab, Foo was associated with Accenture Management Consulting. With a decade at Grab, she has witnessed its evolution and has been instrumental in its growth. Her journey from a country head role to regional responsibilities and now as the CEO of Jaya Grocer showcases her versatility and commitment.

The collaboration between iQIYI and Grab Malaysia is more than just entertainment. It’s a reflection of the Malaysian spirit, a celebration of its people, and a tribute to the everyday heroes who make a difference.
