Cellcard Partners With PUBG Mobile, Moonton And NetEase Games

Cellcard unveiled a series of strategic partnerships with world-leading gaming developers namely PUBG, Moonton and NetEase while entering a strategic partnership with ONE Championship.

This is an important and game-changing step towards establishing its dominance in the local games & esports landscape as it unveils a holistic approach designed to advance Cambodia’s fast-growing entertainment and esports space.  

These partnerships will provide Cellcard users and Khmer gamers access to the region’s most popular gaming titles in PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Rules of Survival (RoS) in addition to thrilling original content and exclusive ONE Warrior Series to its subscribers via PlayGame, Cambodia’s first online gaming platform.

Cambodian superstar Chan Rothana, as the Official Cellcard Ambassador will share his martial arts journey, which will inspire Khmer youth to reach for their dreams and bring them closer to content that they love. Cellcard will also work with Rothana to ensure local communities have access to self-defense and martial arts training sessions for free at partner gyms across Cambodia. 

Cellcard Chief Executive Ian Watson stated: “We want to bring the best of entertainment to our subscribers and will continue to invest in the local games & esports industry to connect Cambodia’s youth to the world.”

Added Watson: “With our upcoming plans for 5G entertainment we are excited about the future and the infinite possibilities it holds.”

Cellcard continues to deliver through the extension of its existing partnership with NetEase Games and Moonton, whose game title Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) was included in the 2019 SEA Games.

“Esports is beginning to take off in Cambodia and Mobile Legends is currently one of the most popular titles in the country. We are excited to continue our partnership with Cellcard and help Khmer gamers reach the next level,” says Caya Yan, Marketing Director of Moonton. 

The Esports Federation of Cambodia (EFC) will continue investing in the formation and execution of competitions and events throughout the year allowing Khmer amateur and professional players participate in national and regional tournaments. 

EFC President H.E Chea Chan Boribo said that his organisation had been working with Cellcard on the very first on-ground tournaments in Cambodia from 2018 with Netease and Moonton. 

“Now we are working with Cellcard to deliver virtual tournaments both live streamed and on PlayGame, Cellcard’s new games platform which was launched in April 2020. 

“Together we are building scale in the local gaming community and hope to see Esports recognised in the SEA Games in 2023.”

To celebrate these new initiatives Cellcard will launch PlayGame Streamathon, a 24-hour format on 13-15 August featuring competitions across Cellcard’s new Games and Esports partners and content creators. Ream Angkor, one of Cambodia’s leading creators and Cellcard’s gaming influencers, said: “My decision to sign up with Cellcard allows me to focus on what I love most: gaming. Cellcard’s desire to uplift gaming and Esports inspires me. I desire to see our flag on the International stage flying high and hope to make my country proud.”
