INNOCEAN’s Strategic Acquisition of D-PLAN360 Bolsters Media Business

INNOCEAN Worldwide, a global creative communications network, has strategically acquired D-PLAN360, a digital marketing firm, to bolster its media marketing services. This move comes amidst the consistent growth of domestic digital advertising marketing, which hit a high of US$6.9bn in 2023.

D-PLAN360, established in 2019, is renowned for its comprehensive digital marketing services, including media strategy, execution, targeting, and effectiveness analysis. The company has earned recognition for its exceptional mobile and display advertising, being chosen as an official agency of advertising platforms NAVER GFA and Kakao Moment, and an official partner of Google.

INNOCEAN recognized D-PLAN360’s proven digital prowess through its successful collaborations with a diverse range of domestic and international clients in sectors such as food, construction, real estate, government offices, and cosmetics.

D-PLAN360’s unique approach to strategic planning and operational services, tailored to the marketing goals of advertisers, sets it apart from traditional media representatives. This was a key factor in INNOCEAN’s decision to acquire the company. INNOCEAN stated, “This acquisition will provide us with significant synergy by internalising digital media revenue and expanding our capabilities for collecting, managing, and utilising data based on an advertising platform.”

With the acquisition of D-PLAN360, INNOCEAN aims to enhance its digital marketing capabilities further. The addition of creative, branding, and performance marketing, along with a unique media and data specialty business, will enable INNOCEAN to offer a comprehensive digital all-in-one package service as a full-service advertising agency.

As D-PLAN360 becomes a new digital subsidiary under INNOCEAN, the company’s future business strategy, “CDM,” announced last year, is expected to gain momentum. INNOCEAN anticipates persistent high growth with the full-fledged promotion of “digital and data” related businesses, the D in CDM.

William Lee, CEO of INNOCEAN, expressed, “By expanding our media business across the board, we will be able to meet the diverse and specific digital marketing needs of our advertisers.” He further added, “We will continue to make active investments, including acquiring stakes in companies, to ensure that we are proactive and prepared for the rapidly changing market environment.”

INNOCEAN has been actively enhancing its digital marketing service capabilities by acquiring the performance marketing company “D.PURPLE” in 2021 and the visual effects company “Studio Lennon” in 2022.

The acquisition of D-PLAN360 was officially completed on June 20, 2023, following an agreement signed on June 15, 2023, at a ceremony held at INNOCEAN’s Seoul headquarters. The event was attended by top executives from both companies, including William Lee, CEO of INNOCEAN, and Shin Young-hee, CEO of D-PLAN360.
