What is Designs.ai? Designs.ai is an artificial intelligence-powered online creative platform under Inmagine Group, a global creative ecosystem with core products, 123RF and Pixlr. It allows users to create logos, videos, mockups and designs through Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). Designs.ai also provides access to millions of photographs, video clips, vector images, graphics, colors and fonts. It also includes features such as tool integration and project collaboration.

Who are the people behind Designs.ai? Designs.ai is made up of a global team of individuals with a simple mission: to make design accessible to everyone. It operates as an incubated start-up under Inmagine. Inmagine is a leading global creative ecosystem powered by creativity, technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Inmagine currently has over 40 offices with 250 employees worldwide.

What was the inspiration behind Designs.ai? Aligned with Inmagine’s vision of a future where design is within reach for everyone, Designs.ai was created to be a quick, easy-to-use tool for non-designers to create good content. In contrast with other design tools available in the market today, Designs.ai leverages A.I. to make creative work simple and easy to learn.

Where does Designs.ai fit in the market? According to the 2015 United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) report, the global creative industry today is valued at over $509 billion. Its increased growth in the last few years is due to the rising demand for creative material across all industries. In terms of market size, the total addressable market for the creative tools segment is $25 billion according to Adobe. Although the market offers a plethora of products for design professionals, there are very few alternatives for non-designers. Designs.ai aims to be the solution for this gap in the market, offering easy-to-use, A.I.-powered tools that are accessible to everyone.

What are the USPs? Designs.ai’s unique selling proposition is smarter, faster, easier. ?Smarter references its use of proprietary AI technology, ?Faster  refers to its promise of design creation in less than 2 minutes and ?Easier emphasises that the tools are intuitive and accessible to all. Designs.ai revolutionises the creative industry by bridging technology and design together with a user-friendly interface.

Who are the users of Designs.ai? Designs.ai is made for anyone who needs quick, affordable, high-quality designs. Whether you are a business owner, freelancer, marketplace seller, agency, student, educator, or just someone who enjoys making creative content in your free time, Designs.ai has something for everyone. For example, you can use Designs.ai to create social media graphics and videos for your business or to generate mockups for clients. You can also make product posters to stand out in your online marketplace as well as classroom presentations.

Designs.ai will become especially relevant to large firms in the coming years. Many companies today are looking for automated solutions to their inefficient creative workflows. Right now, many of them are still relying on incumbent models like outsourcing content to agencies or hiring large inhouse design teams. This leads to problems such as high overhead costs, miscommunication and designs inconsistent with brand guidelines. We want to help companies optimise their creative processes by being more efficient.

We plan to target large agencies such as the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As) and WPP plc; enterprises such as Grab, Amazon and AirAsia; and professional services firms such as McKinsey & Company and ?PricewaterhouseCoopers (?PWC) as our large customers.

How does it add value to its users? First, in terms of content, Designs.ai grants users access to an extensive library of videos, images, graphics, fonts, transitions and many more. There are currently over 150+ million high-quality assets with more being added everyday. In addition, Designs.ai also offers users thousands of carefully-curated design and mockup templates for all business needs.

Second, Designs.ai allows users to invite others to collaborate on their projects. This feature reduces inconsistencies in design and saves time by avoiding back-and-forth revisions. In addition, it also streamlines communication cross-department. Rather than creating multiple email threads with countless attached files, creative teams can easily grant access to sales, marketing, web development and I.T. with a click of a button.

Third, Designs.ai enables creative departments to reduce time, effort and resources spent on creating quality content. By doing so, they are able to focus more on catering to multiple clients’ needs simultaneously.

Lastly, Designs.ai boasts a unique integration feature making the creative process more efficient than ever. A business can, for example, use Logomaker to create a logo and transfer it unto a mockup using Mockupmaker. Then, users can use the mockup on their Designmaker-created posters and social graphics and Videomaker-edited videos. Users can even save colour palettes, fonts and other assets in a branding kit for future use.

Which are the competitors of Designs.ai? Designs.ai is pioneering an integrated approach to A.I.-generated content — unprecedented in the creative industry. Its most similar counterpart is the Adobe Creative Suite. While Adobe boasts a series of powerful tools, consumers have demanded for more affordable, uncomplicated alternatives. Unlike Adobe, Designs.ai is easy to learn and its cost-efficient pricing plan makes it easy on the wallet. One key difference with Adobe is Designs.ai targets the more casual users with a more affordable budget.

Where do we see the future of A.I. in the world of design? While efforts to incorporate A.I. technology are more apparent in other industries, efforts toward its integration within the creative sector are relatively nascent. However, whether we like it or not, A.I. will become a huge part of design in the future.

In the coming years, we can expect to see more tools follow in the footsteps of Designs.ai. A.I. technology itself will continue to improve in terms of accuracy as developers gain more data points across time.

How can Designs.ai help instead of compete with freelancers and agencies? The aim of A.I. isn’t to replace work, but to make existing work easier. Designs.ai optimises the creative process for designers in two ways. The first is through analysing vast amounts of data and suggesting millions of design adjustments using algorithms and machine learning. The second is by automating repetitive, low-level tasks such as refinement and size adjustment to allow designers to focus on the bigger picture.

A.I. can assist in the crucial parts of a designer’s creative process, particularly in the stages of conceptualisation, strategy and execution. Tasks such as colour matching, font pairing and aesthetics scoring can be done easily via A.I. to allow designers to churn out content more efficiently.

What were the main challenges with building something like Designs.ai? In the initial phases, we were largely moving in uncharted territory for Designs.ai and, because of this, it was difficult to apply conventional frameworks and business models. For us, this meant we were free to experiment with different product strategies and be innovative.

Now, as the product is maturing and gaining popularity, our key challenge is to focus on finding more talent to join the team.

What is the business model for Designs.ai? Designs.ai follows a one-size-fits-all software as a service (SaaS) business model.?This means that you pay only once to get access to the entire suite. Users can also purchase content on a per project basis.

What are the future plans of Designs.ai? In the coming years, we plan to grow, learn and continuously improve our products according to consumer feedback. For now, we are working on increasing tool integration and improving A.I. capabilities across all levels. In terms of new products, we have a lot in development. These include an avatar creator, background remover and website maker. Our goal is to create an all in one creative platform that can cater to every user’s needs.
