IP Week @ SG 2025, Singapore’s flagship intellectual property (IP) and innovation event, returns to Marina Bay Sands from 26 to 27 August 2025. Organised by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), this year’s edition – themed “Ideas to Assets: Innovating in Times of Change” – will bring global IP leaders, business decision-makers and policymakers together to explore how intangible assets (IA) are playing an increasingly important role in transforming business, investment, and innovation amidst global change.
IP Week @ SG 2025 will span two days of strategic plenaries exploring IA trends, legal frameworks, and future-facing IP policy. Key topics include IA valuation and disclosure, IP regulation in the age of AI, IP and technology dispute resolution, and SME IP-readiness.
A welcome reception graced by Mr Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs will be held on the evening of 25 August 2025 at the Singapore Oceanarium followed by the opening ceremony on 26 August 2025 at the Marina Bay Sands, where Guest-of-Honour, Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Co-Chair of the Singapore IP Strategy (SIPS) 2030 Steering Committee will deliver the opening address. A SIPS 2030 appreciation ceremony will follow – to thank outstanding partners (individuals and organisations) for their contributions towards advancing the goals of SIPS 2030. The SIPS 2030 is a 10-year blueprint to strengthen Singapore’s position as a global IA and IP hub. Mr Daren Tang, Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will also grace the event and share insights from WIPO’s Dialogue on IP and SMEs, jointly organised by WIPO and IPOS for countries in the Asia and Pacific Region.
SMEs and businesses can gain practical insights on creating value from their IP and scaling their business through sessions on IA and IP disclosure and valuation, as well as licensing and commercialisation. They can also take advantage of the free-to-enter IP Marketplace, where businesses, innovators, investors, and service providers connect, share solutions, and form partnerships. As part of the Marketplace, SMEs can register for a complimentary one-on-one consultation with IP experts. These personalised sessions offer practical guidance on trade mark strategy, branding, commercialisation, and IP management, with each participant receiving a customised post-consultation report containing recommendations and actionable takeaways.
IP Week @ SG 2025 will see increased participation from regional and international organisations including the WIPO, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), International Trademark Association (INTA) and global IP organisations with representatives from more than 20 IP offices worldwide, signifying a collective commitment to leveraging IP for growth.
