Top 20 Global Mobile Games in November 2023 by Advertising, Revenue, and Download

With the aid of its App Intelligence and other modules, SocialPeta sorted out the top 20 global mobile games by advertising, revenue, and download in November 2023, hoping to be of assistance to more people in the mobile app industry who are trying to understand the changing trends of the global mobile market.

The overall performance of global mobile games in in November:

South Korean MMO mobile game took the lead in advertising, with 10,000 ad creatives for ‘다크M’ in November.

  • Combining social, idle, and loot box mechanics, 【Mushroom Heroes】had 3,300 ad creatives.
  • Within just 12 days of its launch, the mobile game adaptation of 【Jujutsu Kaisen】 in the Japanese market generated a revenue of $35.1 million.
  • During the Renaissance period, the East Asian Project series of bullet-hell shooting mobile games achieved 2.1 million downloads in the Japanese market.

1.Dark Thrilling Style Rises: South Korean MMO Mobile Game ‘다크M’ Tops Advertising

South Korean game company Xsoga Game’s self developed dark-themed MMO mobile game was officially released on December 7, 2023. According to the analysis of SocialPeta for advertisers, ‘다크M’ had accumulated nearly 10,000 unique ad creatives placed in November, with a total of 36 days of advertising. The specific breakdown of iOS ad placements is as follows:

  • Video creatives under 30 seconds accounted for 90.5%.
  • The majority of video ad creatives were in vertical format (720×1280), making up about 43.66%.
  • Image-type ad creatives accounted for a significant 58.63% of placements in the past 30 days.
  • Image ad creatives were mostly square in format (1080×1080), comprising approximately 82.34%.

Whether it’s the transition effects in the creatives or the accompanying background music (BGM),【타크M】(다크M) boasts distinctive characteristics. The BGM has a touch of horror movies and thriller short films, while the image transitions use shaking animations combined with character darkening to create significant contrast. The cold color palette, dark backgrounds, and character designs resembling BJD dolls add a sense of eerie otherness to【타크M】setting it apart from the more conventional “glamorous” Korean-style MMOs featuring sexy female characters.

 

2.”Assassin’s Creed Mobile Version”: 【Hunter Assassin】 Wins Players Over with Spectacular Effects

Ruby Game Studio’s action puzzle mobile game【Hunter Assassin】officially launched globally on October 9, 2019. According to the analysis feature for advertisers on SocialPeta,【Hunter Assassin】had a cumulative total of 4,000 unique ad creatives placed in November, with a high 80% of them being new ad creatives. Here are the specific advertising details for the Android platform:

  • Ad creatives were placed in a total of 65 regions, with the highest number of placements in November in the United States, Australia, and Canada, accounting for a combined 45.4%.
  • Within the past 30 days, video-type ad creatives accounted for a significant 71.69% of placements.
  • The majority of video ad creatives were in landscape format (1920×1080), comprising approximately 20.74%.
  • In terms of media placement selection, casual media ranked first, with a high 35.26% share, followed by racing and strategy categories.

【Hunter Assassin】primarily focuses on showcasing gameplay and game mechanics in its ad creatives. The inherent strategic and thrilling nature of authentic in-game battles aligns naturally with the tone of short video platforms. The exaggerated explosive special effects and exhilarating background music (BGM) accompanying the sneak attacks from behind add to the excitement. The use of popular short video filters in the ad creatives also brings fresh and engaging elements to【Hunter Assassin】, despite being a game that has been online for 5 years.

 

3.Cute Idle RPG Goes Live: Mushroom Heroes Take Center Stage

Published by Meo Games, the idle loot box RPG mobile game【Mushroom Heroes Legend】, officially launched on November 23, 2023. Featuring a charming and adorable character design, combined with a light idle loot box gameplay, it’s evident that 【Mushroom Heroes Legend】primarily follows a social and casual gaming route. According to SocialPeta, there were a total of 3,300 unique ad creatives placed for【Mushroom Heroes Legend】in November.

  • Within the past 30 days, the proportion of image-type ad creatives reached as high as 61.53%.
  • The majority of image ad creatives were square in format (1080×1080), comprising approximately 83.11%.
  • Regarding the selection of advertising media, casual media ranked first, accounting for a significant 23.69%, followed by card games and news categories.

 

Top 20 by Revenue

 

Games with surging revenue on the App Store in November:

The manga-adapted mobile game【呪術廻戦ファントムパレード】(Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade), developed by Sumzap, a subsidiary of Cygames, was launched exclusively in the Japanese market on November 19th. In its debut month (November), the game generated an impressive revenue of $33.1 million.

The 2D open-world mobile game developed by miHoYo,【Genshin Impact】generated a single-platform revenue of $28.9 million in November, representing a month-on-month increase of approximately 51.3%. In November, 【Genshin Impact】introduced four new 5-star limited characters, including Baizhu, Furina, Kamisato Ayato, and Cyno.

During its one-year anniversary celebration, the game【GODDESS OF VICTORY:NIKKE】experienced a significant boost in revenue due to the anniversary events and the introduction of new characters. In November, it achieved a single-platform revenue of $16 million, marking an impressive month-on-month increase of approximately 128.6%.

 

Games with surging revenue on the Google Play in November:

In November, the winter apocalypse-themed SLG mobile game【Whiteout Survival】by Century Games generated a single-platform revenue of $19.6 million, representing a month-on-month increase of approximately 40%. Notably, players from the United States contributed a substantial 33.2% of the game’s revenue.

Under MOONTON Technology, the classic MOBA mobile game【Mobile Legends:Bang Bang】remained largely unaffected by ByteDance’s gaming business adjustments. In November, it generated a single-platform revenue of $9.5 million, marking a month-on-month increase of approximately 8%.

The football sports mobile game【eFootball™ 2024】by KONAMI generated a single-platform revenue of $7.5 million in November, representing a month-on-month increase of approximately 41.5%.

 

Top 20 by Downloads

 

Games outstanding with downloads on the App Store in November:

Conquering overseas players, the synthesis mobile game【Watermelon Game Monkey Land】by Big Watermelon officially launched on October 17, 2023. In November, it recorded approximately 3.6 million single-platform downloads, marking a month-on-month increase of approximately 281%. Notably, players from France contributed 38.9% of the total download count.

The manga-adapted mobile game【呪術廻戦ファントムパレード】(Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade) by Sumzap, was exclusively launched in the Japanese market on November 19th. In its debut month (November), it recorded approximately 2.5 million single-platform downloads.

The bullet-hell shooting mobile game in the “Touhou Project” series by Cave, titled【東方幻想エクリプス】(Touhou Fantasy Eclipse), was exclusively launched in the Japanese market on November 21st. In its debut month (November), it recorded approximately 2.1 million single-platform downloads.

The simulation racing mobile game【Race Master 3D】by SayGames recorded approximately 9 million single-platform downloads in November, marking a month-on-month increase of about 10.1%. Notably, players from the United States contributed 7% of the total download count.

The stealth assassination mobile game【Hunter Assassin】by Ruby Game Studio recorded approximately 7.5 million single-platform downloads in November, marking a month-on-month increase of about 56.4%. Notably, players from India contributed 38.7% of the total download count.
