Major Components of a Digital Marketing Plan

Every marketing plan within the last few years now includes a digital strategy. This is because marketing goals usually put emphasis on how the business can reach more potential customers, retain existing customers, and increase sales. Digital Marketing has become one of the most effective ways to communicate because you can connect with your customer base in their preferred channels. Many businesses have switched over to using tools like social media and buyer personas to create user-specific content at scale, which then leads to customer engagement and more likes/follows etc. – leading to a larger customer base which allows for increased sales over time as more prospects filter through due to the ways in which such websites get found through search engines when people are looking for products/services in categories that they’re interested in reaching out and talking with them about.

What is a digital marketing plan?

A digital marketing plan helps you to create a roadmap for your digital marketing campaigns. On this roadmap, you will define your goals and align your digital marketing initiatives to achieve those goals. It covers all the aspects of your business and helps you to meet your goals. In this blog post, I will explain the key components of a digital marketing plan.

Components of a digital marketing plan

Content marketing

This component of digital marketing is a marketing technique of creating and distributing relevant, valuable and consistent content to attract and acquire a clearly defined audience – with the objective of driving profitable customer action. Content includes blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, and other materials. You can use these assets to acquire customers through organic and paid efforts.

If your content is not worded correctly, how can you expect it to be interesting? You should think about quality when creating new content – so make sure your content offers value and depth!

Email marketing

Email marketing is a marketing technique for businesses to promote their products or services. It is a form of direct marketing. Email marketing has been enhanced with the emergence of the internet and has become a highly effective marketing device. Email marketing is an important component of digital marketing because it helps in building a brand image and establishing a relationship with the customers. It also helps in enhancing the business image by establishing credibility. Email marketing is an effective marketing device as it is a convenient and effective marketing tool. The effectiveness of email marketing is attributed to its ability to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time.

Pay-Per-Click advertising (PPC)

Pay-Per-Click advertising is the process of purchasing adverts that are shown on search engines and search results in response to the keyword query. The price is determined by the number of times the advert is clicked. Pay Per Click (PPC) is an internet advertising model that enables advertisers to pay only for ad clicks. PPC advertising is used as a form of pay-per-click advertising.

PPC lets you target potential customers based on their locations and the type of device that they’re using. These targeting options not only make PPC more budget-friendly, but they can help you create the kind of marketing campaign that will give you more bang for your buck, which makes PPC a valuable component of successful digital marketing.

Social media marketing

There are currently 2.3 billion people who use social media platforms, making it a valuable digital marketing tool that you definitely need to take advantage of. Social media allows you to connect with current customers and future ones – as well as establish close relationships with them! If they want to ask you any questions related to your products and services, they can reach out to you via various channels such as Facebook or Twitter.

Social media platforms also allow you to run paid ads. Not only can you use them to target and reach your ideal customers, but social media is also a valuable customer service tool that shouldn’t be overlooked!

SEO

Your company can have the best-designed website in the world, but if it doesn’t show up on the first page of search engine results pages (SERPs), you will never be found. If your ranking is high, then more people will find and contact you when they are searching for products or services related to your business. In other words, a higher ranking is important because it translates into more leads, phone calls and revenue for the company.

It’s important to remember that SEO is a long-term strategy and doesn’t happen overnight; it requires regular upkeep to maintain top rankings, which means more leads, phone calls, and revenue for your company.

How Many Main Pillars of Digital Marketing?(Opens in a new browser tab)

Programmatic advertising

Programmatic advertising is an automated, real-time, technology-based approach to buying media. Programmatic advertising uses real-time bidding to optimize the buying and selling of media. Programmatic advertising allows you to buy advertising at the right place, right time and right price. It gives you access to audience insights, campaign results and media plans.

The use of technology and machine learning in programmatic advertising allows companies to test their ads across multiple platforms at a very high speed. It can then determine what kind of placement works well for their audience.

Video marketing

Video marketing has proven to be a critical component of digital marketing and a highly effective channel for connecting with customers and audiences. You can use videos to get people excited about your product launch and show them the features or educational product information. YouTube and Vimeo are some of the most commonly used sites for hosting videos. Video production has become increasingly affordable and easy as the year’s progress. Nowadays, you can shoot high-quality 4K video, even with your smartphone. Websites get a search boost when they add video because it increases the quality of their pages and keeps visitors on the website longer.

Marketing analytics

Analytics is an important component of digital marketing. Analytics gives marketing managers perspective on how users are using their website and what sort of content appeals to them. The ability of a company to learn about the needs of its target audience makes analytics crucial in digital marketing because companies need this information to be able to create an effective strategy based on when and how consumers use their product or service. Google Analytics is the most widely used tool for analyzing website traffic.

Final thoughts

The components mentioned above are the main types of digital marketing and are widely used in most digital marketing campaigns. As you begin to build your marketing strategy, you will have to decide which components of digital marketing will be most effective for your business goals. You may also want to start using several components at once to test and see which are the most successful. I hope this blog post can give you some insight into all digital marketing components.
