More than ever, now is the best time to make yourself known as a professional coach. Here are 5 ways you can market yourself as a coach during the pandemic.

More than ever, the world needs coaches now.

The pandemic has caused a lot of mental and emotional stress on people and it is during these trying times that coaches should be able to make themselves known (and matter) as mental health practitioners. Alongside other mental health professionals such as psychologists, psychiatrists and counsellors, coaches play a vital role in promoting mental fitness and overall well-being – both of which are needed in order to survive, and thrive during the pandemic.

So now is the best time to establish yourself as a reliable coach. Here are 5 tips on how you can market yourself as a professional coach during the pandemic.

Create inspirational content and videos

Choose your platform of choice and shoot short videos of hope and inspiration. Whether you choose to do a Facebook or Instagram post or upload motivational content on YouTube or TikTok, doing such helps improve your online presence and create customer affinity. What is crucial here is that your content must be relatable and relevant so that your audience gets to find value in them. On a personal note, I am not a fan of hard-sell posts so maintain the purity of the content, and if you must brand it, make it low key. Remember, it’s about helping, not just about earning.

Support a cause

The best way to make yourself known is to let others experience you. Treat this as an investment. Offer your services for free as you support a worthy cause or advocacy. You can even start your own.  Who knows, that can open even bigger doors for you because helping others wholeheartedly will always be a rewarding experience. It’s all about anchoring yourself on compassion, to begin with.

Spark powerful online conversations

As a coach, you are called to speak up and represent. Whether you post on your social media pages or join a community forum,  dare ask the questions which others avoid. Give thought-provoking reflections. These will enable and empower people to inquire within and see value in what you do as you help them become the person they’re meant to be: their own #bestmeever

Contribute to noteworthy websites

If you have a knack for writing, then this one’s for you. Having your articles published as thought leadership posts in highly reputable websites aligned with your niche helps in positioning you competitively in the industry. Lucky you if it goes viral because that can lead to even greater opportunities. Just make sure that the content will resonate well with your intended audience and be written in a cohesive and consistently engaging manner so that you get to build and strengthen your credibility gradually.

Highlight client testimonials

Gone are the days that fancy ads work. People are now looking for results and reviews. Let your work speak for you. Ask for client recommendations and ask for their permission to post it on your page or other social media properties. Word of mouth is still the best form of marketing so be sure to leave a good impression on your clients so they can do the marketing for you.
