Stephen Tjoa

As a seasoned CHRO, I possess well over three decades of C-level expertise and experience in leading human capital strategy, employee lifecycle programs, and especially in the area of leadership development, culture and staff engagement. Currently, I lead the people agenda as Group Chief People Officer for the Boardroom Group, overseeing HR (on all aspects of the employee lifecycle including Learning & Development), across Boardroom’s geographies covering Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Australia. The Boardroom Group is a leading provider of outsourced professional services in the Asia-Pacific region including corporate secretarial, share registry, accounting & tax, payroll outsourcing and ESG advisory services. Prior to BoardRoom, I was part of the KPMG Singapore partnership from 1991 to 2021 building its people practice and talent agenda for three decades. I have been critical in the implementation of innovative people solutions, change management and business partnering programs to facilitate the organization’s strategic people agenda. I was the first human capital professional admitted as Partner in 2005 at KPMG. Since then, I have been instrumental in raising the profile of KPMG’s people efforts to becoming one of the top employers in Singapore and placing KPMG on the map as a global progressive and innovative employer.
